Better than a beauty dish
This is a great product. I was looking for a 16" beauty dish when I found out that Norman only makes 22" beauty dishes. I already own a 22" (BD) from a different manufacturer which I find way too large and bulky, that's why I was looking for something smaller and less "intimidating". I tried to do some research on the web on this reflector, but nothing came up so I figured it wasn't very popular. When the price as well as the shipping charges went down, I decided to take a chance and so glad I did ! This reflector produces beautiful lighting for portraits. The light is soft and even, but with enough character that it does not wash-out the models features. Nice ctch-light too. Forget about ratios, this light does it all. Actually you only need a minor amount of Fill if any to get great looking portraits. You can also feather the light for different effects. Something you can't do really well with a soft-box or umbrella. Another good thing is that the shadows it produces are pretty soft, not harsh like other reflectors, but you still see some shadows in the background. I highly recommend this light for Norman equipment owners.
