I bought the barn doors and a set of gels, but I now realize I need the gel holder, too

About Norman BD-45

Barn Doors make it easy to feather the light to control ratio and graduation; to shield light from the background; and to protect stray light from creating lens flare.

Norman BD45 Barn Doors fit all Norman 5" diameter reflectors including; the 5DL, 5DL-RP, FQ5-TC Flashtube/Reflector assembly and the 2D reflector types for our battery portable lamp- heads.

For totally accurate barn door control, we recommend that the RP-1 Diffusion Dome be used in the reflector. This causes the modeling lamp and the flashtube to be optically aligned for totally accurate previewing.

Norman BD-45 Features

  • Four wheels that enable the doors to easily rotate 360 degrees on the reflector rim.
  • Two rectangular wings and two trapezoidal wings that work together to enable the doors to close down and form a "snoot" effect.
  • Two slots and a Velcro tab mount our FF5 Filter Frame Holder which holds DF5 Diffusers, CG5 Color Gels and ND5 Neutral Density Filters.
  • Black anodized black finish which resists scuffing.
