About Neumann MCM 114

It's time to elevate your audio recording experience with the MCM 114 Set High Strings Cardioid Miniature Clip-On Microphone System. This comprehensive set is specifically designed for seamless integration with instruments like the violin, viola, mandolin, and others of similar nature. The set includes a KK 14 capsule, SH 150 gooseneck, KC 1 cable brace, AC 31 cable, MCM 100 output stage, WS 110 wind shield, and MC 1 clip, all neatly packed in a convenient soft case.

As a product of Neumann, a brand synonymous with professional audio equipment, this system sets a new benchmark in close miking. The MCM System is a testament to innovation, offering a superior level of natural sound, practicality, reliable mounting, and longevity. It comes with nine instrument-specific mounting clips, catering to a wide array of acoustic instruments. The modular design ensures easy replacements and a low cost of ownership.

The heart of this system, the newly developed KK 14 cardioid capsule, redefines the electret principles, capturing the signature sound of a broad spectrum of acoustic sources. Its layer-based design, consisting of eight key components, each optimized for performance, ensures a new level of tonal balance, body, and transparency. The meticulous quality control ensures tonal consistency, making setup and EQ tuning a breeze, even when using multiple microphones simultaneously.

The KK 14 capsule boasts an ultra-low self-noise of 23 dBA and a high maximum sound level of 153 dB SPL, delivering impeccable results for both quiet and loud instruments. Its durable titanium housing ensures longevity, protecting the sensitive components within.

The MCM System offers versatile connectivity options with interchangeable cables featuring 3.5 mm jack, Lemo, 4-pin mini-XLR, and MicroDot connectors, eliminating the need for adapters. The microphone can also be used with a wired connection using the MCM 100 high-end output stage and the 3.5 mm jack cable.

The system's mounting options are designed to be gentle on even the most sensitive instrument surfaces, allowing for quick and reliable positioning. The gooseneck holder rotates along one or two axes and locks in 45-degree increments for precise adjustment. The MC 1 Clip High Strings Clip ensures secure attachment of the capsule and gooseneck to the body of your instrument, making the MCM 114 Set High Strings Cardioid Miniature Clip-On Microphone System an indispensable tool for any professional recording or live performance setting.
