About Neumann WS 100

The Neumann 90mm (3.54") Windscreen for KM 100 and Series 180 Microphones is an open-cell polyurethane foam which attenuates close range sounds, wind and fast movements of the microphone boom. The wind noise attenuation was measured without electrical filtering in a turbulent air stream traveling at 20 km/h, generated by a noiseless wind machine. This windscreen is designed specifically for the KM 100 and Series 180 microphones.

Attenuation
Wind noise attenuation is measured at 23 dB, while attenuation at 15 kHz is 4 dB.
