works well

Novoflex adapters are expensive, but the quality justifies the price.  I use this on an ancient Nippon Kogaku (Nikon) 105mm f/2.5 P Nikkor portrait lens made in the year 1960.  Contrasting the age of the lens, this adapter allows me to keep using this wonderful vintage optic on the cutting edge Canon EOS R with the EF mount adapter.

I was concerned about using two adapters and the fact than any imperfections in either of them would be magnified by an imperfection in the other.  These "dumb" adapters, with no electronics or glass elements are still far more than just a metal ring, they have to be machined perfectly, with no misalignment and with both male and female mounts so perfectly machined and aligned that they most and lock securely, are not too tight making removal difficult, and have no light leaks or alignment issues that could result in decentering an otherwise perfect lens.  Novoflex always gets this right.

I've tried cheaper adapters and the result is always the same.  Slop in the mount, too tight to lock, light leaks or slight errors in angle that result at best in difficulty mounting and removing, and at worse in degraded optical quality.  I no longer waste my time on cheap adapters.

Expensive, and worth every penny.

I own several Novoflex adapters and bellows and love them so I had high hopes for using my Leica lenses on my new Fujifilm GFX 50R. As always the build quality is great. The documentation, on the other hand was very limited. I had to find a couple details on camera settings the Fotodiox site. Once I had it set up and working I took some test shots and while the results are great, the shooting experience is terrible. That's not related to Novoflex, but to decisions made by Fujifilm. The GFX is designed to have autofocus lenses so the only focusing aid provided is "focus peaking" where high contrast portions of the image are highlighted. There are even a couple menu options for use with lens adapters, but those were designed for lenses from their older manual focus medium format film camera. Those lenses were typically rather slow. Hence, focus peaking is ok when you're shooting at f/8, but at f/2 or faster it's useless and that's where you typically shoot Leica lenses.

Great build quality but of limited value

Beautifully machined, fits both the camera and the lens perfectly with no play or slop.
Expensive.
If you're going to use it a lot, buy this one.  If you just want to experiment with adapters, buy one of the cheaper ones first. They work fine for the most part.

High quality product but arrived without any instructions.  Took several minutes to discover how to remove the product from the lens.
