Expensive, but solid build quality, light and great ergonomics for such a simple design. The little ball head is also nicely designed. My only caution would be: to be careful with the screw holes on the bracket. I almost cross threaded one because I wasn't paying close enough attention. That would have ruined one of the ports, very avoidable mistake.I also purchased the 17" flexible gooseneck extension arm. Get this if you do macro work! It makes your rig heavier, and sometimes a bit awkward to hand hold (if you are not using a tripod), but the light directing, and shadow casting abilities it gives you really unlock serious creative avenues in your macro shots. I recommend getting a flash diffuser too. Like the simple collapsible softbox one Adorama sells for like 12 bucks. [...]

In September '07, I started having severe pain in my left arm which later turned into partial paralysis in my left hand. This continued into my right arm/hand as well and is now affecting my legs and feet. It is thought that I may have M.S. though I am still waiting on a diagnosis. I shoot primarily with a Nikon D-300 which I keep on the Novoflex bracket at all times. Without it, I can baraly hold my camera, but with it, I can shoot even with my largest and heaviest lens (Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS). I have a top of the line Custom Brackets (Digital Pro M) which I never use. I find the Novoflex to be much easier to use, plus I can hold it by the handle and don't have to worry about dropping my camera. My only wish is that there was an easy way to mount and dismount the camera to the bracket as the bracket is a bit bulky and makes it hard to store my camera/bracket in my camera bag when not in use.

I wanted to get my flash off-camera for macro photography. This bracket does that easily. I was very impressed with the quality of construction. The ball-head easily supports the weight of 430EX flash + diffuser, and at the same time provides a way of moving the flash in any direction. Not just for macro, because of the ability to quickly change position of the flash via the ball-head, you could use it for portrait work.

Bigger than I expected, very strong, although the tiny screw on the ball head could of been made a bit better. The ballhead allows you to tilt the head 90 degrees, so you can use it as a sort of flip bracket.
