The N-Vision Optics LRS-SCOUT is the perfect solution for professional film makers and serious hobbyists looking to adapt their DSLR or production cameras to Generation 3 night vision technology. The LRS Scout utilizes an excellent Pinnacle tube which has a tested resolution of at least 64 lp/mm (line-pairs per millimeter). The housing is constructed of durable, lightweight, hard coated aluminum. The monocular attaches directly to the camera body with the appropriate adaptor (sold separately) for a wide variety of Nikon, Canon and video production cameras.
The included 50mm objective lens takes impressive photo and video with a shallow depth of field, creating a very cinematic feel. Any 1 inch C-Mount lens, or other lens coupled to a C-Mount adaptor, can replace the standard objective lens. This perfect matching of the night vision system to the camera body results in a crisp, superior image with advantages over systems which instead attach the monocular to the front of the camera lens. On most full-frame 35mm cameras, this means the night vision image will fill the whole frame, eliminating the tunnel vision or "vignetting" effect experienced with other systems. As with most standard lenses, an aperture ring allows for fine tuning light exposure and a focus ring provides manual adjustment for optimum image sharpness.
