NGHI T : Hi, I'd like to know whether this Novoflex Adapter for Leica R Lenses to Sony NEX Cameras will work with the new Sony A7R and leica R lenses. If it does work, will Leica R lens 24mm used on Sony a7R result in color shift and vignetting? Thank you.JOHN W : I have found anything wider than a 35mm causes color fringing and becomes problemical. If you can, try the lense first before you buy it. The issue would not be the adapter, the Sony sensor just seems to have problems with wide angle lense. Consider this the Novoflex, as you can see from the picture is blacked out on the entire inside so the issue is not an internal light leak or bounce, the issue is the sensor. Anything from a New leica M 35mm on out to the 135mm, which i own and use daily work perfectly. There is a reason Leica reformulated the M lenses, the are Apos, have floating elements and the optical demands of digital are much greater than the old days of film. If you don't mind getting the potential out of the sensor then the old lenses are fine, just a different look and order of quality.WILLIAM R : I use this adapter with the Leica 180mm f/2.8 E67 second version and it works great and am very satisfied.MARK M : The Novoflex adapter for Leica R lenses to NEX E mount will work with the Sony A7r. The R 24mm lens should not produce color shading on the A7r because it is a retrofocus design. The problem comes from M mount wide lenses because the back of the lens is close to the sensor and the resulting light directed to the extreme edges is at a sharp angle. Advise: get and use the Novoflex tripod mount ring for the adapter if you will ever use a tripod. Otherwise you could distort the camera lens mount from the weight of the lens.
Christos B : How reliable is this product? Correct It is its precise and correct focus both the minimum distance and infinity?JOHN B : Christos I've been using it on a FS100 video camera. It seems to work great. The fit is tight and the quality seems high. Remember it is what they call a dumb adapter, meaning no camera data is transferred to the lens. If anything the fit was a little too snug at the beginning, it was hard to "click" into place. I also like the fact that it has aperture control since many nikon lenses no longer have rings on the barrels. My only issue is that I think it's still a little expensive. But, that's how a free market works!MARIBETH W : Having recently purchased the Novoflex adapter for Leica M to Sony NEX, I hope to answer your question. My experience with this adapter and the NEX 7 has been really good. This is the best adapter you can buy and is most probably the most reliable one available. I have had no problems with focusing, both with minimum distance and infinity. I hope this helps. Gary J : It is well made and I think will provide a lot of use. I don't use it often, but I have a few lenses that make it worthwhile.RICHARD B : The adapter seems to be accurate. Minimum distance focus is handled by using manual focus on the NEX screen.
