50% great 50% not so great. I bought one of these over a year ago when I bought my iPad Pro. I have had an Otterbox for every iPad since the iPad came out and they have all been flawless?until this one. The flimsy flip plastic door for the Apple Pencil to charge is a joke. The one I bought a year ago broke within 2-weeks of using it. The iPad doesn't sit at the right angle when trying to view a YouTube video it's straight up and slips out often. It doesn't fit right. I took the old off threw it in the trash and used some cheap $25 case until it broke 12 months later. It appeared by the pictures on Otterbox website they did away with the cheap plastic pen door. I was happy and ordered a new one. Opened the box and it's the same exact one with the cheap plastic door I had before. Still won't sit in the cover correctly, falls out often while watching a video, and the case fits so tight I actually broke the corner off of the cover of the original one. My advice to Otterbox is just produce it without the pen slot cover. My advice to everyone else is buy a different cover for your iPad Pro. The other models are great Otterbox quality. The iPad Pro needs to go back to the drawing board for a redesign.

This iPad cover was different from what I'd expected - and so much better and more cersitile. I wanted a cover that supported horizontally or vertically work. This is great plus provides very durable and light weight protection for the iPad.

Very good case for my tablet. First one was defective, but Otterbox customer service was amazing. Replacement was sent immediately and is perfect.

My iPad broke in a few weeks after replacing an older defender with the new defender. The old defender had a rubber flap for the pencil and the new one has a hard plastic flap. The damage is on the right side with the plastic flap. The case doesn't fit as well as other defender cases. The gap tolerances around the ipad aren't tight fitting.

I have defender series on multiple tablets in the past and have loved them. So when I purchased my new iPad 11pro naturally I bought a defender case to go with it. The case works great, but there's issues with the stand. When trying to stand the tablet up in the vertical position, it does not want to stay after a few seconds the tablet tends to fall over.

I have used Otterbox on all of my devices and have loved every one. However, this is not up the standards of previous cases. There is door to access the charging point for the Apple Pencil on the iPad. This came off. When that door is open there is a space between the build in screen protector and the iPad screen. Dirt seems to migrate there. Props to Otterbox. They sent a replacement cover immediately. However, the same issues still exist.

I've upgraded from the iPad Pro 10.5 inch that was protected by a Defender Series OtterBox from the first day. The stand worked perfectly in either position. I have upgraded to the iPad Pro 11 inch and after ordering the iPad I ordered a new OtterBox Defender series. After a couple of days of using it, there is an issue with the stand feature when positioning the iPad in the more vertical position. The issue is in the redesign of the stand. I've attached pictures of the old 10.5 case and the new 11 case to show the issue. This is a concern to me, but not enough for me to return the case. I still think it's the best protection for my needs. I would recommend the product however I would make sure to disclose the issue.

I've had many OtterBox products for the years and I've always liked them. The stand on this OtterBox does not work well. I just hung up with customer service and they did not know why it isn't working well and really could not help. But I noticed on the horizontal side, there is a little compartment that flips up. After a few weeks of trial and error and calling customer service, I now think that cover needs to be flipped up to use the stand. The website does not offer any instructions or even show the cover. I asked for a video on how to use the stand and the customer service person tells me that does not exist. You really need a video to show how to use the stand. It does not work like previous stands I have had from OtterBox. Otherwise, I have found OtterBox customer service to be helpful when you call them. I like your products a lot.

1) Cheap plastic. Quality isn't what I remembered it to be when I was first introduced to their iphone case around 10 years ago. Definitely not worth the amount they charge for it. I ended up returning it and going with their competitor. 2) Design failure. There's a section on the side of the plastic casing that opens out. I don't understand the logic behind this design. This, along with having read reviews of where other people had their devices scratched/damaged because of their cases, is one of the reasons I returned it because they don't show this part in their photos on the product page. 3) Awful customer support. Amazon's chat agents are better than Otterbox's and that's saying something. No longer an Otterbox user.

I do not like how the side of the case flips open for the keyboard as I do not have that option. It is hard to clip in and out of the hard plastic portion of the case that detaches. Other than that I like it.

I love the defender series. I have them on all my apple products. It does make the iPad feel heavier but it's a small price to pay for protection on a $1000 tablet.

I became an OtterBox devotee after a previous Defender case literally saved a previous iPad Air from falling off the roof of a car, a direct hit, and a drizzly overnight on a country road. That I even found the iPad 9 hours later was a miracle. That it was still intact was even more amazing (I still have the pictures of the shattered shell and working iPad. Since then, about 8-9 years, every one of my devices has had an OtterBox case slapped on them straight out of the box. When I got my new iPad Pro, I purchased this case alongside it. Imagine my surprise when I learned that there is no thin screen protector on this case, like each prior Defender iPad case I have owned has. I have always told my "saved my iPad" story when I suggest cases for any device. Sadly, with no screen protector on this one, I 'm not sure this case would have had the same survival story. I'm disappointed that this case has left what seems to be one of the most important parts of prior cases off of this version.

I have a rule in my house if it's expensive it goes in an OtterBox! This is my second OtterBox for my iPad this one doesn't seem to stand in its base very well, I have trouble getting it to stay upright in the stand other than that I know that it's protected I wish they would come out with more colors for the defender series I'm really bored of the black.

The hard protective cover is hard to get off but I think it will loosen up with use. Have used your product for years, had my kids purchase your protective Otterbox covers, and now my sister bought one for her ipad. Wish it hadn't been shiped vis UPS/USPS as it took 2 wks to arrive. Otter has been protecting my devices since I switched from the flip phone. Devices get old and upgraded. When I take an ancient device out of the Otter it's been in for it's entire life, the device looks brand-new.

I previously had a Defender case for my old iPad Air 2. When I got a new iPad Pro I immediately purchased another Defender case. I was surprised to see that the Defender still has the same design for the hinged stand that is built into the lid/cover. The hinged stand broke multiple times on my old Defender case. OtterBox has a great warranty and customer service and they replaced it multiple times but I'm sure OtterBox would rather not keep shipping me new cases. The hinge is also too low when the iPad is used vertically in the landscape orientation and the iPad will tip over backwards during use. This doesn't happen in the portrait orientation because the bottom of the iPad hooks into the lid so it can't tip over. The protection is great so I give it a 5 star rating anyway but update the Defender with a better hinged stand!

We got a Defender case for the new iPad Pro to take to job sites - no doubt which one we wanted after using this case for previous iPhones. Mistakenly got a case for the 1st/2nd gen tablets, which cut across the camera lenses and left a gap. The online chat was fruitless but when I called customer service, they were very understanding - sent the correct model immediately and it arrived within a few days. Highly recommend Otterbox for quality products and customer service!

Have had 8-10 iPhones/iPads over the years and always get an Otter Box at the same time I purchase a new one. Never let my new devices go "naked". Never had a device break - though many have been dropped. I only use the products with the included screen protector. I hate the glass protector and hopefully, they will keep these thin plastic screen protector options available. The glass simply does not allow good control for my art and design projects. The only reason I give a 4 star is the price point. With my latest purchase of an Otter Box for a new iPad, the price caused me to really stop and wait to decide. Ultimately I chose to go with Otter Box one more time, but I've reached my limit on what I'm willing to pay. At the end of the day, these are molded products and there are some decent competitors coming up. I am obviously a devotee of the Otter Box - but price DOES matter at some point.

Less than a year old and the edges on the rubber surrounds have swelled and its really hard to fit into the hard plastic lid , now the edges are getting chewed up by the plastic lugs on the lip . Protects the iPad very well and comfortable the flap system to charge the pencil is fiddly at best
