Durable

I am disappointed by this case for sure. I replaced a Defender Series XT with a XT that has magsafe. The XT without magsafe is a full rubber surround and nice for grip, with magsafe I have already dropped the phone and I just got the case yesterday. Had hoped this would have been a lot closer to what the XT without magsafe is.

Disappointed

Have protected 3 versions of iPhone over the least 8 years with no issues.  Have had a few bump, bounce and drop situations with no damage to the phones.

My case

I was a little weary about the new series being so thin as I have always gotten defender and felt security in my phone being a huge brick. BUT, my phone has taken a couple major tumbles with the new thin defender case and it protects just as well!!! I trust Otterbox with my life!!

So reliable

The Defender Series XT Case with MagSafe is slim, fits  the iPhone extremely well, all the buttons respond promptly and the perimeter material allows for a nice grip.

Great Case for the iPhone 13

It's a little hard to snap onto the phone but once on it is nice and secure. Part of me wishes it was like the other Defender case and came apart to snap on the phone. I got the purple color and the color is nice except the accent color seems more like a pink than a soft purple.

Hard to put on but fits nice once on

This is a good case and fairly slim.  I find it to be too slippery though. The back of the cases is totally smooth and has no real grip. The regular defender case had more texture on the back to prevent slipping.

Nice case.

From a protection stand point I like the case. I did find it a little difficult to install the phone into the case. I have not tried yet, but estimate will be difficult to remove Iphone 13 from Defender Series XT Case with MagSafe. Back of case is very smooth, so some might find this to slippery. However, the edges of the case have enough grip, so I do not see issue with smooth back.

Good Case, didn't love install process

I just can't rate this as a safe Case anymore... Its slippery as can be,  I just pray the drop protection is even half of what it used to be cause this case will be the reason it slips from your hand's constantly

Slippery Materials that will cause a DROP!!

Extremely disappointed, the holster no longer comes with the case, just an excuse to charge more for the product. Likely my last Otterbox after many years of satisfied use.

My husband has always had a black defender case, every time he updates his iPhone he gets this same case. It has kept up with the times and is much smaller and easier to handle as well. Still a great protective case. It does seem a bit slick, a texture to the surface may make it not as slippery.   Overall very happy with it.

This phone has flew out of my hands so many times I have to make a review about it and I don?t have time to breathe so here it is

No gripping action at all!!!!

The old OtterBox had rubber on it to grip any surface .
This version is so slippery!
 They don?t even give you a proper lanyard to attach to it!
 Constantly flies out of my hands no rubber backing  because of the mag safe technology!
Problem is the thing is like a holding a thick slippery piece of plastic .Now I will only tolerate it because of the crazy price you guys charged me. I can?t afford to even look at another case I know you need to have no rubber because of MagSafe but this is horrible  Any truck drivers out there or Lehman people who are in the field you will regret purchasing this phone I?ve dropped it many times

Worst thing I bought in a long time

Third iPhone over the last 11-years. Each one with an Otterbox Defender case. Most likely the main reason for the longevity of each phone. 
This latest one should include better instructions or a quick video for install. Be sure to remember the orientation of the screenless cover once you get it removed and lastly, use a credit card or thin plastic spatula to assist with the install.  It will help align the rubber lip over the edge of the cover. It is definitely a different install from the last one I had for the iPhone 7!   
It is unfortunate that iPhone 13 MagSafe cases in this category have only 3-color choices and, nothing clear to show off the phone in some way. Black, Dark Mineral (Blue or Purple Perception (Pink Accents) are limiting and since the Defender case is all you will see - additional color choices would have been much more satisfying. I?ve had the Polar White/Grey case and the Pink Camo case in the past.  Both much more appealing than my current choice of Purple. Although protection is my priority, aesthetically pleasing is second and day-to-day my preference.

Best Protection But?

I have always used the Defender cases as I want maximum drop protection. For my new iPhone 13 I decided to go with this Defender XT specifically to be compatible with MagSafe accessories. Therefore I was disappointed to find out that the Otterbox folio wallet does not fit on this case.

Is the best case ever.  The protection is very good.  But the choice of colors for the iphone 13 compatible with Magsafe is very poor.

Best case but very small choice of color

I have always been a loyal userof otter box. I have have otterbox cases for my phones. But I just got a case for an iPhone 13 that is compatible with MagSafe and the protection for the camera lenses is not good. The edges that suround the camera lenses don?t protect enough the camera lenses. Besides that issue the case is one of the best choices

Quality case

I?ve been buying Otter Boxes for years. The product has done well in protecting my phone from damage and makes it easier to hold on to the phone.

Great Product

I bought this for my iPhone 13 and am  so glad I did.  It may not be the sleekest or prettiest case on the market, but it gives me peace of mind about my investment in my phone.  As long as the MagSafe feature works well when I try it out, I will be 5 star happy.

Still the best investment in protecting your phone

This is my 3rd Otterbox. Each one has been excellent. This is why I continue to buy from Otterbox !

Great Case !

The case is 3 days old and having some issues with it.  I have only had Otterbox Defender or Commuter with my phones, so I respect the quality that was always there!  This time, there is a small quality issue of the charging port cover not staying closed and the biggest issue is this case has no griping to speak of for my hands.  Also, I had done a search on the Otterbox site and selected the filter for mag-safe cases, however it left out the whole Commuter series which should not have been excluded.  Those cases have more grip than this one from my past experience.  The cases from Otterbox are the best, but I really think this particular case missed the mark.  I really don?t like it.  Sadly I can?t get in touch with customer service due the technical issues they are having at this time.  Hope you can get up and running very soon!  Thank you

Very unimpressed

Usually do not preorder any new model phone, but my old phone failed the day preorder for iPhone began so I ordered. To my surprise an otter box case was not available and the only choice was an Apple case. Just awful. Sides very slippery and it caused me to drop the phone 2x in the first week. Replaced with the otter box case and no more problems

The gold standard of feel phone cases

I?m pleased with the look, feel, and fit of the case. The feel is particularly substantial but not too heavy. The phone seems very protected by the coverage and fit of the case. I don?t see any vulnerabilities to a reasonable drop. 

I am disappointed with the charging aspect. Advertised as wireless charging, which it is, but not QI charging or at least the charger I have from Apple. Rarely the phone detects the charger, but only momentarily. The charger never magnetized to the case. I?m not sure the difference btw QI chargers and simply stated ?wireless? ones. Fault is mine, I should have researched better.

I am super pleased with the case otherwise and recommend it. I will keep it and just plug in for charge.

I wanted to like this case but the bulk makes it difficult to access buttons on the keyboard and the slide features are difficult to use going forward or backward. I?ll unfortunately be returning it.

Not Good

Good quality, easy install, and sleek look! Also keeps the phone secure in its case!! This generation of otterbox is amazing. Only thing that would of made this better if it was FREE!!!!!!

Good product!

I ordered this when I preordered my iPhone 13.  I read the reviews and was nervous but decided to give it a try. I always got the really bulky original defender and loved that it wasn?t slippery in my hand but hated the thickness of the case. This is really not slippery. I love how slim it is and I still feel like my phone is well protected. I haven?t dropped it yet but I am a little rough with my phone sometimes. I will update this review if I drop it.

Love this!

I prefer function over style and want perfection without massive bulk.  The new version of the Otterbox Defender has not disappointed. Positives include total compatibility with MagSafe charging, secure phony fit and non interference with 5G operation.  The case has enough tactical feel to allow a positive grip without being an issue removing from a pants pocket. 

The only negative might be the difficulty removing the phone from the Defender when needed like replacing the SIM card.
