This finder came standard with my Orion 8" Intelliscope Dob about three years ago. So I have had quite a lot of experience with it. About a year ago I purchased a Celestron 8SE to use at star parties because of it's automated tracking capabilities. That scope came outfitted with only a red dot finder and it wasn't long before I upgraded/replaced that with a TelRad, but there was still something missing, especially for a scope with a long focal length and narrow field of view. That's where this very good correct image finder comes in. It works in concert with the TelRad to give the scope the ability to quickly point, the finder then allows you to see with a wide field and greater detail, precisely locating and viewing your target. When you look through the scopes eyepiece, your target is dead center. It also functions like a small wide field scope to do what your main scope may not be able, like seeing all of the Pleiades star cluster! The SCT mounting bracket made this a 5 minute installation with a perfect fit on my Celestron 8SE. Looks like it was made for the scope. I can't say enough about what it adds to my viewing pleasure. I bought a used one from a friend, and decided that I liked it so much that I would buy one for my other scope. This finder scope is a great value, and a good price. The build quality is very good. The optics are also very good. It is difficult to focus, but once you get the hang of it becomes easier.
