Review Summary
The Orion TeleTrack Altazimuth Tracking Mount tracks astronomical targets up to 60° above the horizon. Just point your telescope at the object and TeleTrack keeps it centered in the eyepiece until you're ready to move on. During the day TeleTrack's dual-axis motors provide smooth control for spotting scopes or cameras. The easy-to-use TeleTrack is packed with great features. Four directional buttons on the convenient hand controller allow you to quickly slew your telescope to an astronomical target. Then you can activate tracking to keep your target centered in your eyepiece or camera's field of view.
Three tracking speeds Guide, Slow and Fast give you total control over your observing and imaging. A simple initial alignment is all you need to get started. The TeleTrack has unique features for terrestrial viewing and photography. You can store up to six viewing locations and then use the GOTO function to automatically slew the scope to any of the stored positions. The "Cruise-and-Shoot" function automatically slews the optical system sequentially to each stored location and snaps a picture with an attached Canon EOS digital camera (not included).
An auto-imaging cable is provided for using Cruise-and-Shoot. For video use, a "Cruise-and-Record" function allows continuous recording as the mount sequentially slews to each stored location. The TeleTrack is designed for optical tubes up to 15" long and 8.8 lbs or less. It operates with an external 12-volt power source such as the Orion Dynamo Pro (#2307), or you can use eight AA alkaline batteries (not included). An optional AC adapter is also available. The TeleTrack includes mount with 1/4"-20 threaded post, hand controller, adjustable tripod and camera control cable.
