I was able to easily install the rain cover and my video camera was safe and dry. And it even keeps out the dust!

We have just returned this rain cover. The design appears to have had a lot of thought put into it, but it's just not going to be practical. Here are the issues : 1. Starting with a plus - the clear material looks like the most useful version, and provided it doesn't suffer fatigue along folding points, will be much better at holding up than the commonly used rubber-backed nylon (which in other camera rain covers, I've found to be completely useless as soon as the fragile rubber backing fails) 2. The air bladder on this cover serves no function that I can discern. I was informed that it's purpose was to protect the camera in case of a fall, or to the secure the cover on the camera (?). It's on the top side of the cover, and a 20-plus pound camera is going to suffer severe damage in any case, should it drop from more than a few inches height 3. There's an entire zippered section on the non-operator side. I can't see any reason for that, as the hand on the ENG lens would just be introduced from the underneath in any case 4. The mic sleeve looks to be impractical. My opinion is that the mic should be kept out of the rain entirely, and sound replaced for those shots where nat sound was considered essential - in other words, camera mic is not the place to get this sound during rain 5. The viewfinder sleeve with associated elasticated cuff looks like a good design 6. The mount railing for the externalized top light can be dispensed with in my opinion. Conclusion - I would like to see a much simpler and lighter version of this rain cover introduced. Most of the features can be done away with, resulting in a simple drop-on cover.
