I like it a lot

By tracy s.

I am old school -- my only cameras are Minolta 35mm's fronted with that amazing Minolta glass! Anyway, I needed a rain cover that would allow me to view through a viewfinder, not an LCD screen; and I didn't want to view through a layer of plastic. This sleeve has a little hole for this purpose; and the eye cup slips over it and keeps the sleeve in place. And I'm able to access/operate the buttons, etc. of my camera with very little difficulty. I wish they made a smaller version for sho...

DAVID E  Two questions: 1) How well would this work in active situations when the camera is hanging from the strap? 2) can you reach the zoom ring to adjust while in the sleeve?
JAMES E  You can do both depending on the size rain sleeve you are using. I used one in AK in the rain and it worked well until the trail closed in and it got torn to shreds. Lucky I had a water resistant camera and lens. They work but are fragile in brush.
DAVID E  I’ll be using for AK too, but not planning significant back country. For the price I’ll get some and see. May also investigate heavier duty options as well.
ACCOUNTING D  is this a two pack?
CATHERINE O  Mine was a two-pack.
Brenda S  Yes
JEANINE C  When I purchased it, it was a 2-pack.
CHRIS C  Brilliant product. Buy 2 packs so you are always ready
Shopper  Is this applicable to my camera canon powershot sx20is?
DAVID S  I was using my Canon 5D Mark III with a 24 to 70 zoom lens
PING S  Probably not!
THEODORE K  This rainsleeve is more than big enough to cover a power zoom camera. I use the rainsleeve only to protect my slr lenses and camera bodies when shooting outdoors for professional work.
SCOTT N  The Op/Tech Rainsleeve will probably be a little big for the SX20IS. You should have no problems fitting it over your camera, but will have to deal with the excess rainsleeve. A rubber band or velcro tie should solve that issue (or you can simply trim the rainsleeve to your liking). You may also want to consider a third party lens hood or lens adapter in order for the rainsleeve's drawstring to give a snug, secure, fit. These rainsleeves are excellent budget alternatives to pricier, albeit more durable, options. I've used them to cover field sports with no problems other than the slight inconvenience of having a bag over the camera.Hope this helps!
JOHN J. H  I GOT IT FOR MY PENTAX K20D, IF YOUR CANNON BODY IS CLOSE IN SIZE, IT SHOULD WORK. I PICKED THIS UP FOR EMERG. CASE IF OUT IN THE RAIN. FOR THE PRICE IT IS GOOD TO HAVE WHEN NEEDED!
JOHN L  I would presume so - I'm a Nikon shooter. The rainsleeves should work on all DSLRs.
DONALD C  I use it on my 400 2.8 all the time and leave the one I paid 200.00 for in the trunk because its too much trouble to manage, These are cheap and when they tear I just use another one. It helps to have the eyepiece adapter from Lightware. $30.00
JAMES L  I use the Rainsleeve for an SLR with a 300mm lens. I would expect it would work fine with the Powershot with lots of room to spare. Check out the photo in the product listing.
ZAK K  This rain sleeve is way too big for that small camera.
JEFF S  I don't see why not. The sleeve is made so it will fit various size DSLRs and lens. I've used it with my Canon 50D with battery pack and L-frame attached with lens ranging from 100-400mm to a short 50mm. The sx20is has the same DSLR shape and lens look so I'd think it would work fine.
