This is a great projector so far. It is quite light to carry and deal with, but it produces a really beautiful picture. You see all the colors just pop out at you, and crisp lines, even though the screen is huge. We did not have any problems with setup. I am sure the more expensive projectors have better specs and all, but I have a hard time believing most people will really notice the difference, for the extra price you pay. There are some who might want the expensive equipment, but most of us will get better value out of an affordable-but-great projector like this.

I've been contemplating this projector most of the year, it's had some issues with a odd split screen image issue that the most recent firmware was supposed to have addressed. My wife bought me this projector for Xmas 2020, within the first 8 hours of usage I've seen this issue a few times already. It has the newest firmware. I contacted Optoma but no response yet.

I've waited almost a year to pull the trigger on this projector, Id see hit or miss reviews, mostly issues with seeing a split screen line down the middle. A firmware patch was released over the summer , I was hoping that would be the cure. My wife purchased the UHD50x for me on Christmas, within 8 hours of lamp life I've already seen the split screen issue appear. It apparently has the most recent firmware, so now I wait for a response from Optoma.

Recently purchased this projector, and I must say that it's preforming very well for a decent projector of it's class. The colours are exceptional, detail, in HDR is very clean and organic. The SDR does tend to be a little lagging however it wasn't something to be concerned about. Few things I did notice of a bother was that the menus, seems to be a little clunky and outdated. while there were a vast options available, more screen manipulation options would be nice such as horizontal keystone. It was nice that they offered test patterns however the patterns would disappear when bringing up the menu in order to calibrate the colours. Options like "mute" was available, however the mute indication icon wouldn't leave the screen. any projector correction option wouldn't be available unless a signal was detected.

Amazing Color
Our projectors are capable of reproducing the Rec.709 color gamut, the international HDTV standard to guarantee accurate reproduction of cinematic color exactly as the director intended.
Dynamic Black Technology
This feature gives more depth to your image by smoothly adjusting the lamp output to create a stunning high contrast ratio. Bright scenes appear crisp and clear, while dark scenes remain detailed with deep blacks and exceptional light and shade detail.
UltraDetail
This technology ensures all the information contained in an image is accurately reproduced on the screen to give a stunning crystal clear, pin-sharp picture. Complex algorithms detect each frame and improve image sharpness before the frame is projected.
ISF Modes
This feature allows you to save your calibrated day and night mode settings for the ideal viewing experience.
Long Lamp Life
Reduce the number of lamp changes with long lamp life.
Vertical Lens Shift
Vertical lens shift simplifies installations by shifting the image up and down without image distortion to provide a wider range of projector placement possibilities, making it easier to position the projector in a room.
