The OWC / OWC / Other World Computing Mercury Elite Pro 8TB Multi-Interface External Dual Drive Array with RAID 0 features high-speed Oxford 946 eSATA / FireWire 800/400 & USB 2.0 chipset combined with the fastest SATA drive mechanisms available. This combination gives Mercury Elite Pro RAID Solutions some of the fastest single drive transfer rates possible, even exceeding 120 Megabytes Per Second! The Mercury Elite Pro RAID offers (1) eSATA port, (2) FireWire 800(1394B) ports, (1) FireWire 400 (1394A) port and 1 USB 2.0 port for easy plug and play on any system.

Designed to compliment any user's system, the OWC Mercury Elite Pro RAID is created in mind with the Power Macintosh G5 system as a starting point. A blue activity LED compliments the design recessed behind the front grille, showing when your drive is being accessed. The built-in sensor on the chipset detects when the solution's data cable is disconnected from a Mac or PC's native FireWire, USB, or eSATA interface and automatically spins down the solution to conserve energy during periods of disk inactivity. It is ideal for notebook users who can go mobile without needing to reach around the solution to turn it off or unplug power cord.
