Dont bother with cheap junk pr SSD carriers that have a limited sata interface. Great heat dissipation, perfect SATA connector alignment.

The item came in as described. But unfortunately they did not make an effort to tell which specific back pros this item is compatible with. The Ironworks as intended but unfortunately in order to use my system I have to leave the side panel off or tape the side panel to the top of the Mac pro in order to use it. This is not ideal as a lot of dust will be getting into the system and cause it to overheat because of it. I am highly disappointed that they do not list the compability list associated with this item.

Well the item did come in. It looks exactly as it does on the pictures I’ll give them that. But unfortunately Adorama doesn’t state with Mac Pro’s this item is compatible for. So that was a big let down. Now the only way I can use this item is if I leave the side panel off or taped to the top of the Mac Pro. Which is a HUGE inconvenience because dust will end up being the end of my system. I only wish they were a little more specific on this items listing.

Works as advertised but with my Mac Pro mid 2012 and Samsung 850 Pro SSD I am getting 270 Mb/s read & write and that is because of logic board support is SATA II. Anybody wants faster connection to motherboard they need Sonnet PCIE.

I thought I was going to have to purchase this online, since it's a specific dock for a specific hard drive, and doesn't seem like the type of thing that most stores regularly stock, but Adorama had what I needed, and it works great. Hooray!

This does exactly what it intends. It's made of sturdy metal, fits fine and comes with mounting screws.

It works as promised in a 2012 Mac Pro. It's a little flimsy. I'd prefer if it was metal instead of plastic (and was not blue) and fit tighter in the slot than it does. I'd be scared it could vibrate loose if the side door was left open.

While designed with the OWC / Other World Computing Mercury brand SSDs in mind, the OWC Mount Pro 2.5 is the easiest way to add ANY 2.5" Hard Disk Drive or Solid State Drive to your Apple Mac Pro (2009-2012 'Nehalem' & 'Westmere' models). The powder-coated aluminum and open design assists in heat dissipation while the blue color not only looks sharp, but allows you to tell at a glance which bays contain 2.5" form factor drives. Installation is a breeze. Simply attach your 2.5" drive to the bracket using the four included hard drive mounting screws and swap with an existing 3.5" drive tray. The OWC Mount Pro 2.5 perfectly aligns the SATA connection from your 2.5" drive into the back plane SATA ports on the Mac Pro.
Note:
Not for use with Mac Pro models released in 2006, 2007 or 2008
