A few points: * It IS relatively easy to assemble, once you read the instructions 10+ times. In short, install the two top rods first, then the bottoms ones. The rods will naturally bend into place once you insert the bottom two rods. * This product is large-In addition to the fact that it is 3 ft wide by 6 ft tall (more or less) the support rods stretch another couple of feet, so if you have a small studio (like I do) this might not work for you. * Vertically it works well. Horizontally, you might run into problems because of the two feet or so the support rods stretch out. For taller subjects it might not be so bad, but for shorter or seated subjects, too much of the reflector may show up in the photo even if you lower the stand to it's lowest point. * The optional stand is sturdy so that's a plus. * The white reflective panel works well in my view. Didn't rest the black side.

I bought this to use as a reflector for studio stills as well as full length portraits. I expected the design to make this somewhat top heavy. Therefore, I bought a Matthews 5 lbs. shot weight with it. This was just perfect to keep the stand stable. The one criticism I have is that the supporting rods simple slide into holes on the bottom of the hardware and are held there by the refletor tension itself. I'd like to see a rubber sleeve over the rod or have it screw into the mount. Once I have the reflector attached to all four rods I have no trouble with it though. This is perfect for reflecting on to large subjects in the studio or absorbing light when you want to bring out more shadow. This really helds to produce three-dimensionality to your studio photos.

These units are easy to set up and tear down which is great when you do this many times a week. But the white side is not white, it is a light gray and as such is simply does not reflect enough light to make this unit useful. I am going to try to attach a 'real' white reflector panel and see if I can achieve the results I am looking for. If not, these will be returned as they are not usable as they stand.

love the adjustability of this stand, and the lightweight portability.... but it's just not reflecting enough light for me. Trying to find a different fabric panel so I can continue to use it! Don't really want to buy another reflector just for the fabric, but.....

I love the large size and versatility of this product- the one bad thing but I am learning to work with it is the poles don't stay snug in the holes- they are being held together by the fabric- you certainly need 2 hands to mount the thing.

The concept is great behind this reflector, two problems the gramount is too big on one end have to use a clip to hold in in place, the "white" part of the panel is actually more of a ugly "grey" not flattering light.
