This co-branded ILFORD and Paterson starter kit contains everything needed to process your first rolls of film. From a developer, stop bath, fixer and wetting agent to the perfect sized developing tank and measuring cylinders for processing two rolls of 35mm film at a time (or one 120 roll).The technique to process your own film is simple and rewarding and made even easier thanks to ILFORD Simplicity chemicals which are pre-measured for speed and ease of use. While these chemicals can easily be used in most developing tanks the measurements were based on the Paterson 2-reel Universal Film Development Tank contained in this kit making it the ideal pairing.Note: A darkroom, light tight space, or dark changing bag will be needed to load the film into tank.

This kit changed my film life.  If you've shot more than 4 rolls of film and you want to keep going, order this now.  This kit plus a dark bag and a pair of scissors is all you need for self developing.  The cost using Ilford's individual chem packets breaks even from most lab developments.  But get some 1 liter bottles and some bulk chems and this kit will have paid for itself in about 10 rolls.
Self developing is a game changer and it's not that hard.  And this kit provides everything you need except the film changing bag.

Must have if you're getting serious about film.

This really is an excellent starter kit. Yes, the chemical package is only enough for one roll, but again, it's a starter. Plan ahead and order more at the same time. The key to the set is the Patterson developing tank, which is terrific, vastly better than what I used when I was a pre-teen aficionado. The film loads smoothly and ridiculously easily. I have not problems with the lid leaking -- it's a simple matter to fit it on tightly. The only negative for me is the thermometer. Comparing it to two others (with matching readings), the supplied thermometer consistently reads 3 degrees higher.
