What to say, it's a squeegee. Two things to note: If it gets dirty, a single grain of dirt will leave a long scratch through all your negatives. Rinse it before and after every use. Second, just hold the plastic part together, keep your hands off the rubber squeegee side. The rubber isn't meant to clamp, it's just 4 alternating wipers so not to damage your negative. The plastic part clamps tight so as long as you only hold the plastic end the rubberside will always be just the right tension no matter how hard you squeeze it closed.

I thought I could use a print squeegee as a film squeegee, but after purchasing this I see the difference and the logic. Good tool.

The Patterson squeegee is pretty awesome. I e tried drying my film with standard single blade squeegees and always had bad luck with drying spots and streaks. The Patterson two blade design ensures that both sides of the film dry evenly without any spots or residue. Make sure you use some sort of wetting agent like Photoflo for the best results. My film is now bone dry in about two hours. I highly recommend this squeegee to anyone developing film at home

I was having trouble with water spots on my negatives and was told this squeegee would work well. It is easy to use and has cleared up my negatives very well. Way better than relying on your fingers to remove water.

Works well at doing exactly what it's supposed to do, which is wipe away excess water. I would caution users to make sure to keep the blades clean because given the delicate nature of film emulsion, you can end up scratching you negative if you're not paying attention to maintenance and using a squeegee that hasn't been properly cleaned and might have some debris on it.

I use this squeegie whenever I develop a roll of real black and white film. I've probably developed about 100 rolls this year.

It is a great tool for my purpose of cleaning 8mm & super 8 film before converting them to digital files. It is larger than I expected, but that is a good thing for my application.

what can you say about a squeegee? It's like windshield wipers. this works well with 120 film. nice consistent results.

Cleaned the stabilizer off with one swipe. Film was dry and ready for scanning in a half hour. Gentle on the film; no defects visible in scanned slides.

The idea behind this thing is good but it doesn't work too well. When you squeeze the wet film and try to wipe off the water it sticks and will not slide. When you release pressure then it fails to remove the water. Not much good, went back to the sponge style.

I have been reluctant to use a squeegee for fear of scratching my B&W negatives with a bit of debris caught in it. But, since I haven't been able to get all the drips off with my fingers, I tried this one. It works!
