These lights are not bad. Not my first choice in lighting. My wife bought them as a gift.

Got these at a good price[...] probably because the new models were coming out. Happy with everything except that the flashtubes are not user replaceable (knew this before buying). Seem to have very adequate power -- I have the main set at half power and fill at 1/4 or less for a single portrait subject at 100 ISO f5.6. I even put my speedlite on a tripod for a hairlight. Great way to get into studio photography with little $.

I have a garage converted to a home studio and this product was perfect for me! The only downside is there were no instructions included. I had to figure out how to assemble and use the product on my own. Thank God for that college education.

I am very pleased with the kit and was surprised that quality is much better than I expected given the price tag. It is an amazing kit for the home studio/small settings and an absolutely the best inexpensive starter kit.

I wrote this review to inform those of you that have never used a larger flash system, that to operate it, you'll want to use your flash to trigger these flashes to shoot. The sync cables weren't even neccesary for a Digital Nikon D100, the flash alone triggered them to fire. Just a good heads up. It works great (once you get over freaking out if it works with your camera, only to realize that it does) (we've only used it indoors, I can't speak to other uses yet.)

I recently purchased the EX 150 it feels pretty solid and for home use its great. Its aslo a great starter for the price and has a good amount of power. The stands are very nice and light weight. A downfall it comes in a cardboard box and thats what you have to store it in, so I bought a case. I also tested it out with my Nikon D200 which there may be a problem with the polarity they do not fire all of the time maybe 1 of 10 fails. I'm working on getting a new cable from the company they have been great. I would say for the price one of the best choices I've made.

Very nice lighting kit

Very sturdy and reliable.
This entry level flash kit offers ample power for the home studio at a budget price. The kit comes complete with two 150 watt/sec flash heads, two lighting stands, a 60x60cm softbox, a white translucent umbrella, power cables and sync cord, all in a carry out carton.
The flash units which offer a healthy guide number of 30 in metres at 100 ISO can be adjusted to any required power level between full and one eighth power.
This kit is going to take home-studio lighting by storm. it offers a two full head solution and a range of extras.
Having two 150 watt heads allows you to achieve even lighting over a large area. The heads are well-built and feature a continuous power range from full down to 1/8th power with excellent guide no's.
The kit includes a Softbox and brolley for some nice defused light, as well as two air damped lighting stands.
This is an exceptional home studio set-up as it gives you everything you need. and at a very reasonable price
