FUN F : Looks like there is a 5/8" stud on top for attachments. I have learned that Westcott 5/8" studs will not work well with for Novatron adapters. The Interfit 5/8" stud on smaller stands seem to work perfectly with Novatron adapters. Is there for sure a 5/8" stud at the top and is it the same as the other interfit 5/8" studs?Dennis B : It's funny you ask now. My stands are in storage until I move this month, so I can't go look. If it says 5/*' stud then it has it. The stands I've ordered: Adorama, Westcott, Interfit, all had 5/8" studs if advertised as such. The problem I think you're referring to is that some studs have a different profile (shape) to them, so some accessories have a problem with how the set screw seats on the stud, causing a shaky mount with some combinations. That sai, I'm a huge proponent of using universal swivel brakets anyway, and those fit very securely on every light stand I own II think I use the Adorama bracket and mount all kinds of heavy stuff to it and am very happy. Dennis Butler AlternativeLensDALE B : Yes indeed the 13.4' Air Cushioned, Heavy Duty 4 Section Light (Cor 753)stand does have a 5/8" stud on top. This has a 1/4" threaded post on top and the entire brass piece is reversible to a 3/8" threaded post. The air cushioning is quite strong and is very nice. Wish my backdrop stands were so good! I also have a pair of 9' stands (Cor 751) from Interfit and the brass stud on top is the same, albeit not reversible to the 3/8" threaded post.ANDREW R : The Interfit studs should be relatively consistent, 5/8" is a standard used by many manufacturers however there may be variances depending on the vendor.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?BRIAN S : Really like this stand outside of the fact that after a short amount of time the legs become harder and harder to open and close. Become sdifficult for the wife to operate but not a big deal for the men by using a little force. How cool would an umbrella type button be that would open them up?!?!
