Shopper : Hallo, I didn't understand the difference to have a Panasonic AG-AF100A and a AG-AF100 with the new upgrade. It's not the same result? Thanks! Davide (Italy)JOHN A : My understanding from the handbook was that the letter following the "100" indicated the country where the cameras were to be sold and they were all the same model. LEE A : You're pretty much right - same sensor as the 100, same form factor, same lens selection. I've really liked most of the aspects of our two AF100's once we got them geared out properly, but if I were adding another one to our camera pool I'd buy gently used and purchase the upgrade.STEVE S : Davide, it's the same camera. The upgrade doesn't really do much. It adds a higher bit rate codec and 60p to the menu. Without the upgrade you can still roll about 30mbps and 60p, you just have to use a crank wheel. Steve. USA.
Shopper : Hallo. Does this new ag af 100A camera have a 1080p in 50 FPs? 1080 50p? Or its the sam as AG AF 100? and you need to upgrade it?WALTER P : The AF100A does shoot in 1080 50p. I love the camera's functionality and with the Atomos Samurai shooting in DnXHD codec, the results are excellent for me. Had I owned an AF100 I do not think an upgrade would have made a huge difference though the expanded focus is great. The Samurai worked great with the AFi00 I borrowed before buying the 100A. I have not shot enough footage yet to determine if the 10-bit (enhanced 8-bit) output makes a tangible difference. Overall I am very happy with the purchase.ANDREW R : Panasonic's specs provide the following information: Recordíng Format: [59.94 Hz] PS mode: 1080/59.94p, PH mode: 1080/59.94i, 1080/29.97p, 1080/23.98p, 720/59.94p, 720/29.97p, 720/23.98p HA/HE mode: 1080/59.94i [50 Hz] PS mode: 1080/50p*, PH mode: 1080/50i, 1080/25p, 720/50p, 720/25p, HA/HE mode: 1080/50i *It is possible that the US model does not support 1080/50p natively, however the available information from Panasonic is not clear
