It is good to have options. This long cable makes this system far more versatile and useful. Too bad Panasonic has discontinued the recorder this cable fits.

This cable has proved extememly useful. It allows full control (focus,iris,zoom, rec, WB, etc) of the AG HCK10 mini camera from 65 feet away. Once you Add a remote pan tilt head just imagine the possibilities. It's an intricate cable containing many small wires/pins inside. No doubt it is a costly cable to manufacture and there will be only a limited number of potential buyers hence the need for a greater profit markup per unit. I understand that. But as low end consumer the price of this is HIGH! If I had it to do over, I'd still buy it. It really is that useful despite the price.
