THOMAS H : What is the standard warranty on the AG-HMC80 camera? Is it one year or three years? Thanks.VANCE B : It come with a 3 year repair warranty. You can also get a great drop and spills warranty through Adorama great deal, great coverage.JOHN M : Good question...I'm not 100% sure but I'm guessing it's at least a one year mufacturer warranty...it's been a lil while since I bought mine but I think adorama offered and addition 2 it 3 year warranty as well. I have absolutely zero problems with my camera. Ived used it mostly indoors however. Its only been out in the cold or rain (with a rain slick) twice. I say that so that you can weigh that in when debating whether it not to purchase additional warrantyBOB B : Three-year limited warranty (one year plus two extra years upon registration).
abhay k : is this value for money ? how is its result??ROSCOE M : The camera I feel is really great unless you're shooting green screen. I really like the xlr outputs on the camera. I think it is a good value for the money but if you do have more money to spend the panasonic hvx 200 is not a bad offer which will give you more capabilities.SCOTT G : This camera offers incredible value for the money. Versatility, performance, picture quality...all first rate. The only drawback is poor low light performance, so have good light available. Other than that, I can not recommend this camera enough. I am a professional videographer and I use this camera for nearly all of my shoots. Buy it!!!!abhay k : the best vedio camera proffesional under 100000 rs in sd cardLUIS I : We found them to be a good value. Very sturdy, very good quality image and overall very satisfied with the camera.
Shopper : I'm looking to use this for lower light, that also uses STAGE lighting (sometimes lower stage lighting) anyone know if this will perform in lower light situations?JOSE M : No, i have had problems in filming with this camera in dark rooms for example a dim lighted church.SCOTT G : This is a fantastic camera for the money, but it's weakness is low light capability. You really need a lot of light to make this camera shine. In low light the image gets grainy and soft. If your stage is lit properly it should look fine, but if it is uneven and the light falls off, you will notice a big difference. So overall, great camera, but I wouldn't buy it as a low light performer.

Best Camera for the Prce

I am using this for an event camera. I like the professional high end look, but the size of the camera is the trade-off. There have been some complaints about it not working in low light, but for a HD camera I have certainly seen worse. I have shot some pretty low light events and the camera has come through pretty good compared to others. This camera has a lot of features for a camera in this price-range. I waited to use this camera for a month and liked it enough to buy a second one. This camera takes nice DV and HD both. It has just about as many in and outs that you would want. If your on a budget this is the best camera for the money 4.5 stars

Great Camera - almost...

I am a professional legal videographer. A bit big for weddings but could use it. Low light is a problem. Zoom seems limited too. Also, the DV port only works in DV mode. I have a Focus Enhancement FS5 for backup which is now useless to me if I want to shoot in HD. You have to choose to shoot in DV mode (AVI format) or AVHDC mode (high def with variety of options for storage format). I wish the date/time stamp was moveable or able to format... Still a good camera

From the Manufacturer

A professional AVCCAM HD shoulder-mount camcorder that features solid state DV as well as HD recording capabilities, making it ideal for customers who desire both formats. The HMC80 with its high-resolution 3-megapixel imager offers multiple AVCCAM recording formats and enhanced professional functions for stable, shoulder-mount shooting.

The HMC80 uses MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 high profile encoding which provides a doubling of bandwidth efficiency and improved video performance over the older MPEG-2 compression based formats (e.g. HDV) so recordings look clean and crisp, even during fast motion, without image degradation or dropouts. The camera offers useful solid-state recording functions including pre-record, interval recording, shot marker and metadata capture. Additional features include waveform monitor display, focus assists such as focus bar display and enlarged display, auto focus with face detection, white balance, mode display, zebra display, color bars, tally lamps, slow smooth zoom and soft landing, slow shutter and synchro-scan shutter functions and three programmable user buttons. A wireless remote is also included.

It can also take 10.6-megapixel still images and store them as standard JPEGs on the solid state card. AVCHD recordings and stills can be directly played back from the SD card on a wide range of low-cost players including Panasonic Blu-ray players, laptop PCs and advanced game consoles. Using just one 32GB SDHC memory card, a user can record three hours of full resolution 1920 x 1080 video and audio in PH mode, four hours at HA mode and 5.3 hours at HG mode. In the HE mode, the camera can record up to 12 hours of 1440 x 1080 HD content on a 32GB SDHC card. Up to 2 hours of DV content can be recorded on a single 32GB SDHC card.
