Review Summary
The Panasonic AW-HE50H Outdoor PTZ Camera System with Heater Blower Enclosure is a full outdoor camera system, complete with a custom Dotworkz D2 enclosure, that's ready to be controlled via RS-422 serial control or via an IP network. The HE50H's integrated pan/tilt/zoom mechanism can be operated remotely by Panasonic AW series controllers, computers, or control systems from third-party manufacturers, all via IP control. A full 1920 x 1080 CMOS sensor and 18x optical zoom lens deliver HD or SD imagery in a variety of resolutions, achieving exceptionally natural results due to Dynamic Range Stretch (DRS), Hybrid Noise Reduction and the Flesh Tone function. If desired, the video can be monitored locally via the camera's HDMI, composite, or component outputs.
Fast, precise and accurate, the AW-HE50H offers a variety of other powerful features, such as electronic shutter, 7-step chroma level adjustment, 3-step gamma correction and tally light. The camera pans across a +/-175 degree range and tilts from +90 to -30 degrees. With its Dotworkz Heater Blower enclosure, the HE50H camera enjoys armor against the elements.
The camera housing will not corrode, rust, or leak. The custom Dotworkz D2 enclosure is a Heater Blower (HB-MVP) unit, which offers excellent protection against the hazards of outdoor camera use: environmental mayhem and vandalism. The enclosure features a heater-blower for environmental control and a multi-volt platform for power.
The housing is tested to be water-, dust- and airtight and its heater activates at 40 degrees F (4 degrees C) to keep the PTZ camera at optimal operating temperature. It deactivates at 60 degrees F (15 degrees C). The blower remains on at all times, keeping the enclosed AW-HE50H cool and keeping the lens fog-free. This heater-blower version of the D2 enclosure is recommended for climate zones with temperatures that range from 0 to 120 degrees F (-17 to 49 degrees C).
The system includes a breakout cable that conveys HD/SD component & composite video as well as RS-422 commands. It features a 20-pin connector at one end and 3x BNC plus 2x RJ-45 connectors at the other end. The camera can be controlled via RS-422 serial control or, with its Ethernet input, over an IP network - to receive the commands that make this pan/tilt/zoom camera what it is. Power supplies and a second RS-422-only breakout cable are also included.
