Great overall, love the ease of recording sound, built-in ND filters, excellent 4K images. Only downside is a relative poor performance in lower light situations.

This seems to be a great entry level camera for my video production classes. We have not used it much so I cannot attest to its durability, but Panasonic cameras usually outlast some of the others I've used. Beautiful quality picture for the price.

I purchased this camera in May of 2017 and have spent that time primarily shooting aviation subjects of all varieties, from hanging out of a helicopter shooting air-to-air videos, being underneath helicopters enduring a barrage of rotor-wash, and shooting vintage WWII fighters, and also a little bit of landscape/scenery work and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this camera! I spent several months doing my research before pulling the trigger on this, and it was everything I had hoped it would be and better. There has definitely been a bit of a learning curve when it comes to finding perfect settings for each subject, but it has been well worth it. I especially love the time-lapse feature. I actually use that frequently and it's been great saving the shutter on my DSLR. I love the steadiness of the image stabilization, as that was a huge issue I had with my previous camera. My only concern has been the autofocus hunting while shooting aircraft. Whether it's an empty blue sky or trees and mountains in the background, it seems to have a tough time tracking moving objects right away. BUT, I figured out how to work around that early on, and is no longer an issue. Just be aware that it's there.

Perfect for the run and gun camcorder guy. Easy to use and features a great deal of perks including auto focus assist. Shoots to SD cards and shoots 4K...All in one choice.

Good: Great during day light. Slightly weaker for indoor low light recording. Bad: No Remote. Product came with 3 Year Extended Warranty. Applied for it will all documentation but I have not received any confirmation even after 5+ months. Some part of Panasonic does not care. Summary: Overall, good value for money.

The camera is very easy to use and shoots great 4K video. I find the built in neutral density filter is very handy and easy to use. The audio section is very configurable when using external microphones. I like shooting video with this camera better than any of my DSLR's. Great camera.

I'm a TV news videographer and this is a perfect second camera to supplement my main camera, AG?HPX370. It's incredibly portable yet I get very high quality imaging - not only high resolution but great color handling. A must have in my video arsenal.

This is the 4th 4k cam i have purchased and I am insanely happy with this one; going to give two of the others to friends. The only thing that i have not been able to do is find the remote control start/stop/zoom switch for this, not a wireless one, and as i am disabled, this is the only drawback to this. Compatible with macbook for video editing and downloading, easy to handle, simple to use both in intelligent auto and manual. If you are a point and shoot person, this one might be a bit more complicated to use, but after practice you can achieve the look you want. Great low light shots possible. Where is that remote? thanks

I don't normally write reviews, but when you buy a product this outstanding it would be a sin not to. I've had this camera for around 6 months now and it is simply marvelous. The picture quality is amazing, it shoots beautifully in 24, 30, and 60 fps and even has great shots in pitch black darkness. I highly recommend this camera for anyone who wants to shoot 4K at 60 frames - what a bargain. I hope the creators of this camera get extra bonuses for creating such a spectacular device. 2 64 GB sticks last almost 2 hours at 60fps/150 Mbps. In addition, the manual controls on this camera allow you to capture the best picture possible given the available lighting conditions (auto settings work great as well). Shooting in daylight will bring tears to your eyes as the picture quality comes out so clear. I took this camera on multiple trips overseas and the shots it captured were stunning. It's easy to carry around as well and isn't too bulky given its size. I also shoot around 2 hours of video per day with it and have never run into any problems. It additionally supports some fancy features like remote shooting using a smartphone. Read the documentation available online - the list of features will have you pretty excited for the price. Very happy I bought this camera.

The quality is outstanding, the captures are beautiful, and it's a dream to record with. 2 64 GB sticks get you around 2 hours of 60fps 4K capture at 150 Mbps and it's breathtaking. The manual options are similarly outstanding allowing you to get the best shot possible. The documentation is great and you can download as a PDF from the site. I highly recommend reading it for a full list of functionality to expect. It records 1080 beautifully as well since it captures in 4k and downsamples so the 1080 captures look much more detailed than standard 1080 camcorders I've used in the past. It's ultra silent as well and is fairly lightweight. Can shoot with one hand no problem. About the only complaint I would have is that it doesn't capture raw 4k and instead records directly to mp4. This, however, can be seen as a plus because you don't have to re-encode after, and the files are much smaller than raw would be. For the price, it's no problem.

The Panasonic HC-x1000 1080p 4K Ultra High Definition Camcorder is created with a 4K 8-MP 1/2.3-inch BSI sensor. Compared with the 2-MP sensors used in ordinary Full-HD camcorders, this distinct sensor advantage renders UHD and FHD professional-quality results. Right down to the finest details and with minimal blurring.
4K Ultra HD Video On the Go
This highly agile, multi-format camcorder is ideal for shooting documentaries, sports and events. It supports 4K, Cinema 4K and Full-HD with frame rates that include 30p, 60p and 24p. In 4K 60p resolution, the mobile x1000 captures stunning, lifelike images. Using 60p/50p, the frame rate has twice the information of 30p for smoother motion. If you're ready for 4K, this is how you do it.
Versatile Formats and Bit Rates
Versatile formats and bit rates make the x1000 unbeatable in a wide range of applications. Its AVCHD, MOV and MP4 formats make editing quick and easy. And Full-HD utilizes ALL Intra compression for a maximum bit rate of 200 Mbps to bring incredible quality to image production.
2-Channel XLR Audio Input Terminals
For external mic and line recording, the x1000 is equipped with 2-channel input terminals. A +48 V phantom power supply is also included to handle pro-spec, high-performance microphones for recording high-quality sound.
20x Zoom with 4-Drive Leica Dicomar Lens System
To fit a 20x optical zoom into this portable body, the x1000 is designed with four compact, separately driven Leica Dicomar lens groups and a space-saving drive range. This efficiency - together with the subtle nuances and shading captured by renowned Leica lenses - clearly shows in sports scenes and other professional applications.
ND Filters
To suppress the amount of incident light, Neutral Density filters are built into the lens and can be selected - 1/4, 1/16, 1/64 or OFF - to match your shooting environment. It's a distinct advantage when shooting at a slow shutter speed in bright daylight. And you can attain high resolution and a shallow depth of field when opening the aperture.
Triple Manual Lens Rings
For speedy and intuitive shooting, independent focus, zoom and iris rings are included on the lens barrel to meet professional needs.
Illuminating LED Ring
To make the shooting process smoother, an illuminating LED ring clearly verifies that recording is in progress. A feature easily turned on and off.
High-Speed, High-Precision AF
For confident, comfortable recording in ultra-quality 4K, simply maintain the AF drive frequency at 60Hz to improve focus speed, stability and tracking performance.
Blur-Free Imaging Anytime, Anywhere
Power O.I.S. for 4K - Built-in gyro sensors detect hand-shake up to 4,000x/sec to let the lens compensate and correct slow hand-shake caused by breathing. Your subjects stay sharp even while shooting with 20x zoom and 4K resolution. 5-Axis Hybrid O.I.S.+ for Full-HD Only - Hybrid O.I.S.+ incorporates 5-axis correction to suppress blurring from wide-angle to zoom for clear, sharp images in nearly every shooting situation.
0 Lux Night Mode
Shoot clear, detailed images even while observing wildlife in the dark (0 lux), taking advantage of infrared rays and IR-LED lighting.
