I bought this product to record my son's cute behaviours (he is 1 year old). Among Canon, Sony and Panasonic for a sub $500 camcorder, I find the [@] reviews give best rating to this model. And it was on promotion a few weeks ago at Adorama, then I bought it.It is really lightweight and easy to use in IA mode. But for the manual mode I find it is not so usable. Using the touch interface for manual control of so many parameters is quite troublesome. I think I will stick to IA mode since it produces fairly good results.I own a Canon DSLR also does 1080/24p recording. Frankly speaking, when I first receive the camcorder and test it, I found the video quality is really subpar compare to the DSLR video. But the reason I give up using DSLR to do video recording is its slow auto focus performance, my son can easily run out of focus during recording. The Panasonic does the auto-focus well and fast!I am not sure how Panasonic does the noise reduction, I still can see some noise even I shoot outdoors video when view on my LCD screen. But if you connect this camcorder to Panasonic TV using HDMI cable. You will find the video quality is better compare to view on a computer screen. The bonus part is, via Viera link you can control the camcorder playback using the TV's remote control.Generally speaking, this is good camcorder which does its job, especially consider the price. But the video quality cannot compare to the DSLR one. So set your expectation well if you have seen DSLR video before. I guess the 3MOS one (TM900) should be better but that is more than double the price...

We have enjoyed this camera since day 1. Very clear picture. Easy to use and load onto computer. Battery lasts a long time. 16GB SDHC card by SanDisk records for hours. We use the camera for soccer games and other events. We purchased the larger battery so we wouldn't run out of time on vacations or longer events. This week we recorded a whole wedding from the getting ready stage, the time with the photographer, the ceremony and the wedding dance without running out of battery or room on the card. We would deffinately purchase again.

I was looking for quality, optical zoom power, and stabilization at high power when I found this camera. The higher priced Sony and Canon models have lower optical zoom of 10x or 12x compared to this one of 26x. Up to 40x still looks superb. The zoom is fast and variable. Has great stabilization and an icon to touch that really locks on and holds the subject still. No more tripod needed in most cases. Also the AF lock will hold moving objects in focus when touching the LCD monitor. You don't need a wide angle attachment either with the 28mm lens. Also, the lens with 1.8 gathers plenty of light. It has a manual/auto control button on the camera body. I will use this at outdoor event and anything of interest. Videos look professional with the stability. The battery is good for at least an hour of video with on and off shooting. Stills are good enough quality for me at 5mp. There are 6 quality settings available depending on your computers processing power. So far I haven't found anything bad about it other than it doesn't come with any features like high speed, time lapse or auto record.

Panasonic's HDC-TM90 High Definition Camcorder features the option to record in 3D recording, along with 1080p 2D video and internal 16GB and SD flash memory storage. Using the optional VW-CLT1 3D conversion lens the TM90 gives you the ability to make fun and unique 3 dimensional memories that literally pop! Finished 3D movies can be viewed on any 3D TV that is compatible with the side-by-side method, including the Panasonic VIERA 3DTV.
When it comes to making good old 2D movies the TM90 doesn't fall short. With 1080p recording and a multitude of quality features the camera not only yields stunningly detailed, vibrant and life-like footage that will look great on your HDTV, it also gives you the tools you need to create memories that will last a lifetime. The CMOS sensor and Panasonic's Crystal Engine PRO processor work together to produce those high def images quickly and with the incredible beauty and detail that only progressive recording can give.
Progressive recording, as opposed to interlaced, reproduces the entirety of an image - the lines of information going across and up and down in an image. This means that your colors will be more vibrant and true to life and details will be more well-defined. Progressive literally records twice as much information from your scene than interlaced does. When you put progressive footage up on your HDTV you'll see the incredible detail and lush colors that standard definition and interlaced recording can't match. Not only that, but shooting 1920 x 1080/60p also means that your video is future-friendly - making it usable and relevant for many years to come.
Other tools of the TM90 include a 28mm wide-angle lens. This lens helps you to get everyone in the scene. A 3.0" touch screen LCD gives you a generous platform on which to record and review your footage. The touch operation gives you an intuitive way to move through menus and change settings without taking your eyes off your subject. Other standard camcorder features include HYBRID Optical Image Stabilization, for keeping your footage steady and a 40x Intelligent Zoom.
In addition to being a high def camcorder, the TM90 doubles as a 5MP digital still camera. You can leave your dedicated still cam at home - freeing yourself up from the burden of a weighed down bag and from having to switch between units. Other features of the TM90 include a bevy of user-friendly shooting controls. These controls help take the guesswork out of recording, allowing you to focus on the moment and not trying to figure out the correct setting for a particular scene. Functions like face detection, scene modes and Intelligent Auto, among others, give you the options you need to make the most of your videos!
When you're done shooting and ready to share your memories the TM90 gives you numerous options. Use the included HD Writer AE 3.0 software for editing, archiving and sharing your footage, including help uploading to social media sites like YouTube or Facebook. Using an optional mini HDMI cable or the optional VIERA Image Viewer you can view your video on your HDTV. You can also burn your footage using an optional DVD burner. And yet another option is to use the in-camera Advanced Highlight Playback which turns your scenes into a creative montage complete with music.
