Calls keep disconnecting after 1 minute

I really like the features of this phone and everything was working fine. I had my VOIP connected as Line 1, my landline connected as Line 2 plus my cell phone was connected via Bluetooth. BUT something has happened and now every call automatically disconnects after approximately 1 minute of talk time and I can not find a solution to fix the problem. I have looked in the user guide and on line. I am really hoping this can be resolved or the phone is useless. Assuming I can get this resolved then absolutely I would recommend this phone, but if not than I would strongly suggest you do not buy this phone.

No HOLD, poor handset speakerphone, ring-tone selection

I was going to buy this unit to upgrade my 2-line KX-TG6700B with 7 handsets. But reading these reviews and those of the sibling KX-TG958 (corded handset at the base), it's not going to work out. Three problems: * no HOLD button on handset, so you can't put a call on line 1 on hold in order to answer line 2 without going through menu items. * can't assign a disctinctive ring tone to each line, so you have to look at the handset display to determine which line is ringing. * speaker phone on handset is of poor quality and half-duplex like a walkie-talkie, so you can't carry on a real conversation through it. Why would the engineers drop these crucial features that work so well on the much older TG6700?

No record greeting button.

Requires menu driven options to change greeting, or to listen to greeting. Not good for a business that puts on a different greeting in the morning, another at lunch and then one at end of say.

Headset Jack, Handsets, Hold, Keypads and Screen

I bought KX-TG6582 long time ago and it is still perfectly working. I bought this new KX-TG9542B since I need the HEADSET jack feature for my home business. This model is fully cordless with tilting LCD. Since it comes two headsets, I feel like I have three phones including the base. It has hold button on the base which is good enough for me. The keys or buttons are slick and smooth. I like the big words and numbers display on the tilting LCD screen. I looked around many other telephone products from different companies and I found no other phones come close to this Panasonic model I bought for my personal and home business. It is very good looking. I bought it on December 15, 2017. I absolutely love it. I hope to enjoy this phone for many years to come and in fact, I hope that I will never need to buy a new home business phone in my life. This is a great great product.

THE MOST FRUSTRATING PHONE

Why in the WORLD would a telephone manufacturer design a two line telephone WITHOUT A FUNCTIONING HOLD BUTTON? WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE ENGINEERS AT PANASONIC??? This phone was purchased for a small business - as two lines would be very helpful to have...... but, this awful excuse of a two line phone does not allow you to put a caller on hold and answer the second line without going through a RIDICULOUS effort to put caller one on hold - - - and, there is no return of this phone from where I purchased it, so, here I am - - - hating it - - - and losing calls all over the place....... VERY FRUSTRATING PHONE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.......

DON'T buy if you expect to use bluetooth with it!

DON'T purchase this unit, or their "newer" KX-TG9541 or 42! I purchased two of these telephones. I have been using a BlueParrot vxi Roadwarrior B250-XT headset on both sets since I purchased them. I've been using these headsets for 11 MONTHS without an issue. A few weeks ago, I was trying to disconnect my headset from the base. The base made this horrible screeching sound and I picked up the handset and put it down; the noise stopped. But the headset was no longer paired with the base. I have tried EVERYTHING to re-pair my headset with the phone base. Mind you, I used to be a telephone technician, so trouble shooting is something I know how to do. I cleared any and all blue tooth devices from the base, unplugged it, tried to pair it using the menu buttons and the menu # commands too. I've read the manual for the headset and cleared ALL pairing on that too. Waited for correct beeps, etc. I finally called Panasonic today, and if you're lucky to find an actual telephone number, good luck. (800-405-0652) I talked to their service department. I told them everything above. All they did was re-read the manual with me. I told them I'd like to have it fixed since the warranty runs out next month. Well, since my headset it not on their tiny "approved" headset list, they refuse to honor the warranty. When I explained I had been using this headset for 11 months, they told me it must have been a fluke and some will pair up with it then stop working. What???? Bluetooth pairing is what they call a "backwards compatibility." This means both units have to talk to each other in a simple explanation. The newest version of bluetooth pairing which came out last year is 4.1. Some cell phone companies are even using higher versions. This phone ONLY supports 2.1! Panasonic needs to get with the program and update their software!

Line 2

Each time I put someone on hold on line 2, within a minute, it drops the call. It is so frustrating to both my customers and myself. Is there a setting I dont have set correctly?

Great phones!! ESPECIALLY the call block feature.

I retired from the Telecom business. I installed more business systems than I can remember, including PBX systems with thousands of extensions. Having said that, I am most impressed with THIS system. I have two lines in my home, and this unit handles them extremely well. The build quality is great, and the programming is straight forward (if you actually read the instructions! Doh!). But, the call blocking!! I no longer have to listen to inane spiels every 15 minutes! I love it!! I've had this system (6 handsets) for about a year and have never had a problem. Oh, and the power failure feature works well. the local power company replaced our buried cables and transformers a while back, and had to turn off the electric for an hour and a half. The phones worked through the whole thing.

Very happy with the purchase thus far. Phone was easy to set up and connect multiple other lines to. Only thing I don't like is the range on the Bluetooth, its gets scratchy for the person on the other end if you get to far away. The ringer is a nice volume so we can hear it across our shop. As well as the caller ID function telling you who is calling. Otherwise ease of use is great for us. Thanks. It was the only set I could find that would connect Bluetooth headsets and have a 2-Line system going along with 6 handsets+. Very happy to have found it!

Most feature-laden 2 line phone out there

I've had this phone for several years and it has the most features of any 2 line phone I've seen. While the menus are a bit cumbersome, the manual is pretty well written to figure out the various options. I've had no problems and I have my cell and Bluetooth headset hooked up to the phone and they work great. I have a home line and business line also connected and am very happy with the reception and call clarity.

The phone is pretty easy to use

The phone is pretty easy to use. The lack of hold button is a little irritating, having to press menu then down then hold then select. Not good for fast pace working. The hold music is absolutely horrible. Couldn't figure out how to change it, finally decided to chat with someone online and she resolved it pretty quickly and easily. Overall it's not that bad, it works :)

NO HOLD BUTTON - SERIOUSLY???

Our business has used a Panasonic system for a number of years, & we choose this one to upgrade to this model. I am shocked that there is no dedicated HOLD button on the handset & that you must file through the Menu to find it. At least you could have made HOLD the first option you see instead of searching the options. Definitely not user friendly in an office environment Also not being able to change ring styles is frustrating. Not what expected from upgrading to what I thought would be better features.

Love the Link2Cell feature

I am a manufacturer's rep that works out of my home. I am in the office one day a week and on the road the rest of the time. I sometimes missed messages with my old system or had to remember to call in and get messages. Not anymore! With the easy to set up, Link2Cell feature, after 2 rings in the office, calls automatically forward to my cell and I never miss a call now. Absolutely love this feature. I will never have another phone without it! I had a minor issue with the display, went online to find the answer, had a customer service pop up that asked if I had questions/issues, said yes and within three messages back and forth, issue solved! Saved me a TON of time trying to figure it out or waiting on hold for help. Love this phone and service!

Good system

Gave up my landline because I was just paying to have solicitors call on it. Bought this on recommendation of a friend. It was easy to set up and import all my contacts from my cell. I like not having to have my cell hooked to my hip all the time and being able to answer from < almost> anywhere in my house.

extremely difficult to use

Long had Panasonic phones and loved them until I ran across this bast..d phone. Wanted it because it had clal blocking and Bluetooth. But instead of sticking with its very satisfactory operating system, Panasonic chose to really complicate matters requiring users to enter numbers to do operations which users could do by just punching keys on the older phones. And there are more than 100 numbers for different operations. Does Panasonic expect users to have perfect memories to remember all those numbers? Worse yet, the instructions that come with the phones are microscopic and require a magnifying glass to read. Only wy to read them is download the Manual in PDF. Thanks Panasonic but no thanks. Won't waste my money on a Panasonic again. Took this phone back to the seller.

NO HOLD BUTTON ON HANDSET

I can't believe it has a noise reduction button where the HOLD button belongs. Great base station and answer machines. i use it with a headset instead of the handset but when on the handset and line 2 rings try fumbling thru a menu to get to a hold selection. Even a soft HOLD selection in the window which popped up when on an active call would be better then a MENU. By the time you find HOLD, the line stopped ringing or you accidentally hang up on the line you originally used. Imagine putting a NOISE REDUCTION button in place of HOLD. Let the NOISE REDUCTION go to menu selection. This is probably my 4th or 5th panasonic 2 line phone, great base but the handset needs a quick action HOLD button.

KX-TG9543B disappointment

Since our prior system was satisfactory until it, uh, wore out... we purchased another 2-line from Panasonic. ISSUES, however, have marred the experience. The 1st two items were not the case with the older system: 1 - Dial tone and tones for number input too loud! 2 - Unable to switch to spkr with headphone on / have to unplug it! 3 - Handset on base - went totally dead upon removal - - this happened on a separate charger as well . . . and then it quit doing this! (Just hate when stuff does this!) Otherwise, the system is easy to operate, although being more menu-driven requires some getting used to, and battery life is exceptional.

Don't have to carry my cell around the house.

This Bluetooth phone set is so convenient. I can answer my cell and land line from any phone in the house. These phones even let me know when I have a text on my cell. Sound is clear and there are many features like call block, silent, etc.

Still want a land line but...

We still want a land line but use our cell phone more then the land line. We bought this phone since it will connect by bluetooth to two cell phones. It is easy to set up and use. The voice quality with the cell and land line is excellent. We have no complaints. The phone also has all the regular features of a land line such as the answering machine, speaker phone and caller ID. We think that this phone system is worth the cost.

Good but could be better

We set purchased this with five extra handsets. It works fine. The sound quality is good. After sale tech support is good as well. There are, however, somethings that could make the phone better. 1. You cannot set distinctive rings for line 1 and line 2. We would have liked one long ring for one line and two short rings for the other line. You can only distinguish the rings by the choice of two different pitches. How good are you at distinguishing Ab from Bb? 2. Let's say you don't want to hear the caller's ID digitally spoken (we didn't). You cannot change all the handsets at once from the base set. You must make the change on each phone. It's not the end of the world; it just takes a little time. 3. It would be nice to silence all the phones from the base set (at bed time for example) with a single button. It is much more complicated than that and not worth the effort to program each time you don't want to be interrupted with a call. Like I say, a good phone system, but it could be better.

KX-TG7875S

I had a previous Panasonic phone system, had it for 4+ years. I loved it, I could link my cell phone to the house phone, it had call block which made the decision to purchase the previous model as no other manufacturers offered call block. Panasonic has always had a good reputation, a no brainer in making either of the purchases. I recommended the phone to family and they purchased the phone system after my first purchase and again after storms hit the phone. My new purchase was to increase the call block from 30 numbers to 250 numbers. Thank you Panasonic. I love all the features, text alert, etc.
