Review Summary
The Panasonic PT-EW530U LCD Projector has 4500 ANSI lumens of projection power at a 2000:1 contrast ratio so it will give you a fine image, even when you can't achieve theater-level darkness.
Its LCD technology (the part that creates the image) delivers sharper and brighter pictures with superior grayscale detail. Smooth, seamless color combined with an unparalleled grayscale range delivers incredible detail to every image displayed by the PTEW530U.
Those images can be in a wide variety of formats. The PTEW530U can project in 720p and 1080i high definition. Its international credentials are equally impressive. It can project images in the NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N and SECAM video formats and it has a 100 to 240V AC 50/60Hz power supply.
This projector is capable of projecting two different image sources simultaneously displayed onto a single screen. You can also switch to P-in-P (Picture-in-Picture) mode and display a sub-window onto the main screen. The sub-window can be positioned at any of the four corners (upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right) to expand the usable area as only a wide-screen projector can do.
The PTEW530U makes your audience's life easier, too. It can display closed captioning channels, which is useful not only for the hard of hearing but also for people learning English as a second language and for everybody when you have to project in a noisy environment like gyms or trade shows.
If you are working in a noisy environment your PTEW530U won't be part of the problem for another reason. Its fan noise is a mere 37 dB in standard mode and in eco mode it runs at 31 dB; literally quieter than a whispered conversation.
Extensive interfaces include HDMI and DVI-D input terminals, two sets of computer (RGB) input terminals and a serial (RS-232C) terminal for external control. It is also possible to output audio during Standby mode. This is convenient when connecting an external audio system through the projector.
Lastly, the LAN terminal allows a computer connected to the network to use Crestron RoomView application software to manage and control system devices.
