I bought this to force myself to work on compositional skills -- I'm much better with a long lens than a wide one -- and it's been a joy to use. Not only is it good for the kinds of shots one would conventionally use a 35mm lens for, but surprisingly, the bokeh is excellent, as is the close-focusing. One caveat: I had to download a lens profile from the development version of LensFun to get correction into place for Affinity Photo; this is only a concern if you shoot raw. The lens is very well-corrected for chromatic aberration, but when not shooting JPEG and getting the benefit of the camera's software applying lens corrections there's significant barrel distortion (I can forgive some distortion that's easy to correct in software being done in-camera or during development, given the size and light weight).

Excellent lens! I shoot with this lens as my primary because it nicely bridges the gap between an ultra wide and a medium lens like my 50mm. This is great for capturing street photography or portraits. The wide open aperture is also great for night photos which are my personal favorite to shoot. I never have to worry about not getting in enough light with this lens.

The lens was more than expected. Solid build. Not overbearing. Clean photos. Focuses quickly. On camera it inspires confidence. Covers multiple situations. I use it on a Leica CL. Wow. A professional feel. It elevates the Leica without breaking the bank. I strongly recommend this lens.
