I've been a Leica owner/user for many years but thought that I would give the S Pro a try for my new S1R. Boy, was I impressed with the IQ at all focal lengths, as well as its quick AF, along with the benefit of its OIS. At corresponding focal lengths, this lens is as good as my Leica SL 24-90mm zoom, while at 90mm it is even sharper than the Leica. Its long end is very sharp as well. i will be looking forward to the future release of new Panasonic S Pro lenses that I will likely purchased in place of their Leica counterparts.

Fantastic lens. The packaging really doesn't matter but is excellent. As soon as the lens comes out it feels quality, very solid. Paired with the SL, wow, lightning focus, and easy switch to MF. The OIS is phenomenal. I'm a landscape and travel photographer so this lens is a very welcome addition. As I use a tripod quite a bit, the collar here is fantastic. No need to buy aftermarket. And big thanks to Panasonic/Leica team for designing a proper collar with an Arca style foot! Why doesn't anyone else do this rather than the design from the previous century? Tested the lens and it is very sharp corner to corner. Ready for hit the road!
