Pros: This stereo system has a very good sound quality. It has a beautiful outlook and very portable. As a compact system with its not-too-high price, I'm pretty satisfactory with the features and sound quality. Cons: (1) Starting time takes as long as 5+ seconds. This seems to be a common issue with most of the Panasonic home appliances. After powering it on and select the play mode, you need to wait until it finishes "checking" before you can press "Play" to start. (2) Another thing is that, the iPod/iPhone deck can be used for the old versions of iPod/iPhone. If you have a iPod Touch 3rd generation, for example, you can't use the deck. (3) The wireless audio feature isn't easy to setup and play. The user manual for this part isn't clear or there are missing steps to set it up. Overall, it's a good system, with this price, for a small room.

Love this unit. Does it all with an Iphone. Sound is impressive. Wall mount is sturdy. WPS setup with router is easy. Airplay a little more Difficult.

I am so very pleased with this Panasonic Stereo; it is hard to believe you can get such a nice, well made stereo system for less than $200. I tried a Bose Soundlink Air and couldn't stand it's muddy sound and limited features. This Panasonic sounds better, and does way more. The Airplay feature functions better than Bose too! It always works and doesn't drop out. I have an Iphone 4S and this is one of the few Airplay systems that I feel works excellent!

The Panasonic SC-HC57 Compact Stereo System with iPod Dock offers a great way to enjoy your music wirelessly, from anywhere in the house. With AirPlay, you can stream music cable-free from the iTunes library on your iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, PC or Mac straight to the SC-HC57. The music is streamed as lossless data, so there's no loss of sound quality from compression. Onboard is also a CD player and FM radio, to give you even more options.
If you choose not to go the wireless route, you can dock your iPod or iPhone into the auto sliding dock and listen to your music through nano-sized bamboo cone speakers that can pump out an impressive 40 watts of power. The bamboo cone speakers make the sound more responsive; vocals are pure and clear and dialogue is crisp and easy to understand. Thin, passive radiators at the front and back of the speaker suppress unwanted vibrations and afford robust bass.
Two more technologies are working to ensure the best sound possible for all your selections. With Pure Direct Sound System, distortion is dramatically reduced by digital signal processing (DSP) to reproduce highly pure sounds. Direct-Vocal Surround expands sound throughout a listening environment to mimic a concert hall.
Chances are, you may have an iPhone or iPod touch; and if you do, there are two apps that you can download to enhance the functions of your new SC-HC57. The first is vTuner, which lets you listen to thousands of Internet Radio stations from around the world. By downloading the Remote Control App, you can - you guessed it - control the SC-HC57 right from your iPhone or iPod touch. You'll be able to use screen operations to open the main unit's door and to adjust the equalizer and other settings.
Aside from its bevy of features and functions, the SC-HC57 has a modern design that will blend with any decor. The gradation-finished door, crystal edge and stainless mesh combine to offer sophistication. The slim, flat form factor takes up minimal space. In addition to a tabletop setting, you can mount the system on the wall for a low-profile look. It's also Energy Star qualified for low power consumption - which is good for your wallet and good for the environment.
