Mikiko K : Does this product fit in HDC TM700? and exactly how it goes into the shoe?Norman F : YesTHOMAS B : It's an exact adaptor that comes supplied with the unit. I use it for a spare. The adaptor fits in a camera latched slot whereby other units like a external mic or light or any device may be attached. The adaptor does not provide any power to the attached units. It's merely a physical attachment adaptor.INGRID M : It is the shoe. It slides into an opening on the side on the camera and sits slightly above the camera body. It is a cold shoe, which means it doesn't have any power; it is mechanical. IMHO it is manditory to have this device for the camera so you can attach certain devices such as directional mic or additional light or wireless lav receiver. It is simple, inexpensive and works well. I have the HDC-SD750 and purchased this item hoping that it fit. It's only $7.00, so if it didn't work.. oh well. But it fits fine and I never take it off.
