I recently bought a Panasonic HMC40 camcorder from Adorama, and the battery included with it (the VBG260) packed a very mall punch. On a full charge, it would get about three hours of battery life, and that's without changing brightness on the screen or turning on any of the extra features such as the Record Lamp or the Wind Cut microphone feature. I knew that I needed a better battery, and the VBG6 was the only choice. Yes, it is quite expensive. I was more interested in the batteries that cost in the $ range, but I had heard too many bad reviews about them. I decided to go with the Panasonic battery and I'm extremely happy I did. On a full charge, I get eight hours of battery life (and when combined with the three from the included battery, that's eleven hours). Highly recommended as the battery of choice for my camcorder. I heard that the HMC80 and HMC150 get great battery life with the VGB6 as well, but they just get a little bit less since they're larger and eat more power.

This is a terrific battery! I recently purchased my first professional video camcorder from Adorama, the Panasonic HMC40. The battery that comes with it is a terrific battery, and I get 3 solid hours of use from it, but it is quite small. When you put it in the battery slot on the camera, it looks a little silly because of all the extra space for this larger battery, the VGB6. This battery fits perfectly and gives me a charge of practically 8 solid hours. Now I'll never have to worry when I'm shooting a short film out in the field and don't have the ability to plug in and recharge. =u)

Great battery for the HMC150. Unlike some of the 3rd party batteries, the Panasonic batteries will show the battery life remaining on the LCD screen. It's accurate, and recalculates charge when you open or close the LCD screen or start recording (it actually calculates the usage CONSTANTLY). The discharge is much more linear than 3rd party batteries as well. Don't waste time and money on the other batteries...just get the Panasonic ones and know that they have the best overall performance. The price difference is really not much at all anyway.

I use it with the HMC40. The only moving parts are the internal optics. On a Full charge, it powers the Panasonic HMC40 For about 7:50+hrs with the LCD Screen on. and about 5-10 percent more just using the smaller viewfinder. I use the rode video mic the has its own battery that is doens't use the camera's power. I imagine that buying the XLR and adapter and mic to go with would reduce the time some but the rode videomic is something to consider in the mean time.

Definately a must. Using xlr mics will kill regular batteries very fast. This battery gives you much more time.

This 7.2 V 5400 mA battery provides operation for the AG-HMC70 and AG-HMC150 AVCCAM camcorders (Up to 3 hours, 50 minutes).
