Peak Design 20L Everyday Backpack V2, Midnight

I purchased this backpack for a trip and it was fairly good but not great. First of all, it is not comfortable at all. If you plan to do a whole day of walking with camera gear, it's really going to hurt your back and shoulders. It keeps the weight all up on top of your shoulders and shoulder blades, and is extremely uncomfortable. Also, inserting the dividers is very tough and not very practical how they are folded. I wish there were an option to have a divider that's split in the center vs in thirds. If you have two smaller lenses, you have a big void in the inside that just wastes space. Also, the way the dividers are set up, there's no really easy way to even put the camera body inside. The pockets and other things are good, but I often found myself struggling to recall where I tucked items and ended up having to search all the time, and it was very annoying and not what I wanted to do when I was trying to find something. The way the chest strap attaches is veery difficult to take the pack off, and you can't quickly detach and take off the pack. Overall, I think the back is good but needs to go back to the drawing board. It's not set up for practical use and is just too uncomfortable for long term daily use on a vacation.

Bought this bag a couple weeks ago. The bag is high quality, each feature is designed carefully with usage and comfort focused. If I wished for a thing in this bag, a section for my camera (big) accessories like chargers, lens hoods, ... highly recommend!

I recently bought a 30L Everyday Backpack. The product quality is good and it really has a great design, but the weight has been making it very difficult to use daily. Maybe I made a mistake getting the 30L instead of the 20L, but I just wanted to say that 2 kilos for the empty bag makes it really heavy. Just as some feedback, I think paying attention to the weight in future versions would make a big difference for a product like this.

I was extremely disappointed when I received this backpack. The product arrived with visible marks and signs of wear on the exterior fabric, making it look used rather than brand new. This is completely unacceptable for a premium product at this price point. On top of that, the material quality did not feel as premium or durable as expected from the photos and marketing. The fabric already showed marks straight out of the box, which immediately raised concerns about long-term durability and quality control. What made the experience even worse is the return process. As an international customer, I had to pay more than 28? in return shipping costs for a product that should never have been shipped in this condition in the first place. Asking customers to cover expensive international return fees for defective or visibly used items is simply not acceptable. I had very high expectations for Peak Design based on the brand's reputation, but this experience has been extremely disappointing from both a product quality and customer service perspective. I contacted the customer support about this and I am waiting for an answer.

Honestly this is an incredible bag, for anyone from a photographer to normal day commuter to a traveler Got gifted this bag, used it everyday for 4+ years, traveled around the globe with it. The build and construction is incredibly durable. The straps and pockets barely stretched, the hardware stayed in tact. Eventually The water proof zipper gave out, and peak replaced the bag in store on the spot. I will definitely be buying more Peak Products, and a diff size bag. The Product is amazing, I highly reccomend.

My dad has had one for years and I finally replaced mine with this! Zippers are super sturdy (issue I've run into with other ones), a million pockets that are a good functional size. The latch kind of closure is nice for quickly going in and out of your top compartment and the laptop sleeve being separate from the main bag space is also nice. No digging through your stuff to get your laptop out! The mix of open, magnetic closure, and zip pockets is nice and the bag dividers are super handy to keep things from crushing each other.

Bought it 4 years ago and never looked back. Still serves me flawlessly today with no issues. Only improvement was that I wish the little plastic clips they include for the attachment points were made of metal. Had one snap once (when my motorcycle fell on it, so fair enough) but still, metal gives that more premium feel and is more robust. Proud owner of 5 peak design bags today. Otherwise perfect.

So it's way more comfortable than the mk1 and yes it think the little pockets in v1 are a far better idea but this feels lighter when full of camera gear even though I upsized from 20L mk1 to 30L mk 2. I also like the tidiness of the mag straps. However my niggle is the capture digs into my shoulder when fitted to shoulder strap. so that's annoying and I don't feel the tripod fits in well either so the fail for me as is paying extra for a hip belt which isn.t available in sustainable coyote either.

I love the way I can fit and easily access two cameras with large lenses in this bag at the same time, and that it has space for other items including a laptop. Unfortunately, I hate wearing the bag for any longer than a few minutes. I even bought the waist strap and it does nearly nothing to transfer the weight onto the hips. Considering how well the bag can accomodate heavy gear, it seems crazy that there was no effort made in load distribution. Please consider redesigning this bag with a functional hip belt!

I can stash a camera with a lens attached, a telephoto lens, a tripod, and a water bottle, while still leaving half of the bag's full height available for groceries, a jumper, or a bottle of wine. Unlike my dedicated camera bags-which are essentially just gear organizers with no room for anything else-this bag actually adapts to real life. This versatility, combined with the sleek look and the glowing online hype, is what sold me. The Comfort Trade-off However, the backpack is significantly lacking in the area of comfort. For a bag at this price point that is marketed as "innovative," the lack of focus on ergonomics feels like a major design flaw. The Straps: They are too thin and lack proper padding. Long-term use (a few hours during a city stroll) won´t be pleasant. The Fit: As a taller, well-built guy (186 cm), the straps feel non-ergonomic and constantly feel as though they are about to slide off my shoulders. The Backplate: It is quite flat and lacks the necessary contouring for long-term wear. I originally looked at the 20L, but it was far too small and even more uncomfortable for my height. Reading other negative reviews, it seems I'm not alone in this sentiment. I hope the R&D team takes this feedback seriously for future iterations! Small Suggestions Lastly, a few quality-of-life additions are missing: a soft, lined pouch for glasses and a dedicated small compartment for pens and pencils would go a long way. Final Verdict: 9/10 for organization and style; 2/10 for carrying comfort.

I have several backpacks from various, expensive brands. And let me tell you right off the bat, there's nothing better for urban commuting. A laptop 16", tech pouch, umbrella, water, and extra space for a jacket, food, or small purchases. And you have everything you need, nothing more, nothing less. Quick access from the top is fantastic. Access from the sides without having to pull everything out is a masterpiece. The shoulder straps are quite narrow and compact, but would I want anything else for this purpose? Absolutely not, that's exactly how they should be: compact and ergonomic. The magnets are 50% of the solution; they ensure they're always in place and out of the way. This keeps the backpack compact. There are no dangling straps, and the aesthetics are simply stunning. Zippers... I haven't seen any better. Even in much more expensive backpacks, these are the best. The genius of this backpack is its simplicity and practicality. For example backpacks with lots of zippers, pockets, and comfortable straps I use for travel. For EDC, they're too complicated, and access isn't as quick or easy. It's great that the company doesn't cut corners and doesn't try to push cheap plastic components. Everyday Backpack 20L is a great product. Very well thought out and made of high-quality materials, I highly recommend it!

I've had this for a little over a month and have been using it primarily as a camera bag and I've been able to consistently (and comfortably) pack it with (1) full frame DSLR, (1) crop sensor DSLR, a 70-200mm, a small tech pouch packed with stuff, and another xtra small camera cube with 2 more lenses, along with a bunch of accessories in all the great internal pockets and it's handled everything great while also not feeling over packed. I also used it as a personal item for a recent trip and packed it with a laptop in addition to my camera gear and it handled it in stride. I'm looking forward to taking it out this spring to my kids various sporting events and seeing how it handles different types of weather. All in all, I'm very satisfied with the bag and am happy I bought it.

This was bought as a gift for me as a camera bag. It blows my previous camera bag out of the water. My first thought was how impressive the quality of the bag felt. Additionally, it's the most thought out camera bag, with an amazing design and tons of storage for camera accessories and lenses. Super excited that it has a lifetime warranty, so I never feel worried about actually using my bag to work.

I bought this about a month ago. I wanted it to be a office /gym Bag. I was tired of carrying to bags to the office as I normally change at work before leaving for the gym. I absolutely loved the thoughtfulness of the design it's apparent the team really spent a great deal of time observing a listening to customers and this innovated quite a few things. I especially liked the dividers in the bag and the top latch. But at the end of the day I could not fit my size 11.5 on cloud running shoes in the bag. It's advertised as 30L but seems smaller than that. I'm not if the methodology used to determine that volume. My needs were not large. I typically just lack a large iPad, a my gym shirt, shirts and running shoes. Maybe a light rain jacket ?very packable) and a small brick chargers/cables. Also I was hoping this bad could serve as a weekend bag for overnight trips but again the smaller size and shoe issue is a problem. Overall nice bag just not for me. Unfortunately I returned it. Maybe the team can create an office/gym bag in the future.

Received this as a gift a couple months ago. I feel that the bag is highly overrated unless you're using it just for photography. The partitioning system is cool and there bag feels high quality but i feel like it was just designed to be different, rather than to be as useful as possible. I find that it fits significantly greater things, and in a less organized way. Peak is allergic to zippers for some reason so puts them almost nowhere and instead favors pockets that "seal" with magnets. Fair warning: do not put anything small that you care about in these pockets because those items will slip out when you're not paying attention. These pockets give you a false sense of security. The bag feels like an over-designed high-quality gimmick.

This bag is awesome! It is marketed as a photography bag. However, it is a great bag for medical professionals. The customizable dividers allow me to make compartments for all of my high tech medical gear. I carry a digital stethoscope, digital otoscope with camera, glucometer, pulse ox, first aid kit, face masks, multi tool, first aid kit, and a 16 inch laptop with a charger. The velcro liner of the internal compartment allows for me to place a Velcro pocket for storage of my notepad or passport. Not only is this bag stylish, it is very comfortable to wear. If you have ever been issue any type of military pack, this feels like a Cadillac in comparison. The Midnight Blue color was on sale. So, with my veteran discount it made for a sweet deal. Buy this bag! You will love it!

I bought the 30L version of the bag to become my portable office on the road (trains, busses, planes) with the option to also bring my camera for leisure time and I love it. I can compartmentalize as I need for every single trip, I have easy access to everything even in settings with limited space, to have two decently sized water bottle holders makes all the difference on a 10 hour train trip and when only using the laptop compartment for laptop and tablet, it carries a ton of groceries home comfortably. What I have found is that the depth measurement presented on the website is wrong. It is not 27cm, but 23cm. This is a feature, not a bug, because I therefore can use it as a carry on luggage with bigger European airlines such as British Airways or Lufthansa (not Air France or KLM though). The only drawback that I have after two months of use with my ocean coloured model is that the light inside stains easily and is nearly impossible to clean.

I bought the 30 L version of this backpack in Charcoal. Love the way it looks from the front. Would prefer if MagLatch was self-centering. Note that the 30 L capacity only applies with the top lid attached to the highest MagLatch anchor point. By default, this is a big backpack for the amount of internal volume you get. The rear panel being a flat piece of foam that extends way beyond the padded section looks silly to me. Material selection and assembly quality are very nice.

I wanted to give this backpack 5 stars. Three things hold me back. First, both the exterior pockets and the laptop compartment feel tight for modestly-sized content (an 18-ounce Hydro Flask water bottle and a Surface notebook, respectively). Second, the interior dividers, while useful in their configurability, take up space and don't lend themselves to defining vertical compartments. And third, my particular backpack looks ever so slightly asymmetrical, with the main compartment flap partially covering one of the side entrance zippers. This last criticism is admittedly picky, but it bothers me. The rest of the construction shows so much attention to detail, this little flaw stands out. Nevertheless, I like the backpack a lot. I was just hoping for perfection in a business travel backpack.
