Peak Design 20L Everyday Backpack V2, Midnight

Received this as a gift a couple months ago. I feel that the bag is highly overrated unless you're using it just for photography. The partitioning system is cool and there bag feels high quality but i feel like it was just designed to be different, rather than to be as useful as possible. I find that it fits significantly greater things, and in a less organized way. Peak is allergic to zippers for some reason so puts them almost nowhere and instead favors pockets that "seal" with magnets. Fair warning: do not put anything small that you care about in these pockets because those items will slip out when you're not paying attention. These pockets give you a false sense of security. The bag feels like an over-designed high-quality gimmick.

This bag is awesome! It is marketed as a photography bag. However, it is a great bag for medical professionals. The customizable dividers allow me to make compartments for all of my high tech medical gear. I carry a digital stethoscope, digital otoscope with camera, glucometer, pulse ox, first aid kit, face masks, multi tool, first aid kit, and a 16 inch laptop with a charger. The velcro liner of the internal compartment allows for me to place a Velcro pocket for storage of my notepad or passport. Not only is this bag stylish, it is very comfortable to wear. If you have ever been issue any type of military pack, this feels like a Cadillac in comparison. The Midnight Blue color was on sale. So, with my veteran discount it made for a sweet deal. Buy this bag! You will love it!

I bought the 30L version of the bag to become my portable office on the road (trains, busses, planes) with the option to also bring my camera for leisure time and I love it. I can compartmentalize as I need for every single trip, I have easy access to everything even in settings with limited space, to have two decently sized water bottle holders makes all the difference on a 10 hour train trip and when only using the laptop compartment for laptop and tablet, it carries a ton of groceries home comfortably. What I have found is that the depth measurement presented on the website is wrong. It is not 27cm, but 23cm. This is a feature, not a bug, because I therefore can use it as a carry on luggage with bigger European airlines such as British Airways or Lufthansa (not Air France or KLM though). The only drawback that I have after two months of use with my ocean coloured model is that the light inside stains easily and is nearly impossible to clean.

I bought the 30 L version of this backpack in Charcoal. Love the way it looks from the front. Would prefer if MagLatch was self-centering. Note that the 30 L capacity only applies with the top lid attached to the highest MagLatch anchor point. By default, this is a big backpack for the amount of internal volume you get. The rear panel being a flat piece of foam that extends way beyond the padded section looks silly to me. Material selection and assembly quality are very nice.

I wanted to give this backpack 5 stars. Three things hold me back. First, both the exterior pockets and the laptop compartment feel tight for modestly-sized content (an 18-ounce Hydro Flask water bottle and a Surface notebook, respectively). Second, the interior dividers, while useful in their configurability, take up space and don't lend themselves to defining vertical compartments. And third, my particular backpack looks ever so slightly asymmetrical, with the main compartment flap partially covering one of the side entrance zippers. This last criticism is admittedly picky, but it bothers me. The rest of the construction shows so much attention to detail, this little flaw stands out. Nevertheless, I like the backpack a lot. I was just hoping for perfection in a business travel backpack.

I bought it... I don't know why, probably because of the great discount. That made it look just expensive, not ridiculously expensive. Overall great quality but: heavier than I thought, uncomfortable straps, specially the chest one which at the lowest position is at the base of my neck, the origami thingy seems to be more of a gimmick with limited usefulness. The side access is somewhat wrong, should be opening the other way round ,in my opinion.The side flaps are blocking the view and there is a risk of dropping small objects, a lens or a wallet, for example. The top compartment is nice but if you load it with a jacket or something bulky ,looks...cheap. The most annoying is the fact that makes me look like a fat princess. I have the feeling that the 30l one does the same (I know, it's unfair to blame the bag for this). And the yellow or whatever colour is the one from inside is far from my favourite, cannot imagine carrying sport shoes or anything dirty. I'm not going to return it but very likely will make a great gift for someone I know. On a positive note, I have a 45l one which suits me way better in every aspect ( although makes me look like a delivery man for Uber Eat :)).

I bought the Charcoal Everyday Backpack for my trip to London and Zermatt. It holds all of my gear plus my iPad and MacBook Pro. It's comfortable to wear all day and looks very stylish. But the bag absolutely shines when it comes to accessibility. I love the design of the top load, and the side load is just brilliant.

I purchase the 20L size about a month ago and so far it is great. I looked at the sample sizes and being approx the size of the woman shown it is the perfect size for me. Also I wanted to make sure it would fit overhead in the plane without any issues. There are so many options for storing inside that I haven't worked out the best for me yet but I'm enjoying the choices. Very well made and I don't worry about my equipment when packed inside.

First bought this just under two years ago, and it truly is versatile enough to be worn on the daily, irrespective of the occasion or setting. Although this bag did break twice on me (the zippers in particular when the bag is full is quite susceptible to ripping off or the teeth being disconnected), PD was prompt in replacing this for me, with a replacement bag arriving in 2-3 days. I'd say that for how much this bag costs, it very much is worthwhile (especially with the lifetime warranty!).

I got this a week ago and I love the color the material and the quality of craftsmanship I have never ever seen or used before a practical and minimal design pack But yet it's also luxurious in the details it's just a wow purchase that maybe you can't put into words and I'm 53 years old but have never used the Rolls Royce of backpack product or experience My only question is if I should have gotten a travel pack instead to use with camera cubes for more separation and security opportunities I think on the sides of this pack with the design will smaller things fall down to the bottom levels

Overall the bag is well made and the material seems hardy. I was a underwhelmed by the capacity of the bag and the partitions, while maybe good for camera equipment are less than ideal for everyday back pack use. Once I had my tech pouch and dop kit in there was little room for anything else. I could barely fit my light weight jacket in the top even with maximal expansion. Also with the central pocket full it made it hard to get the lap top in and out. I love the other products I have tried but this one didn't hit the mark for me.

The V1 is, in my opinion, much better than V2 when it comes to interior.. V1 had better pockets, and more versitility in what to carry. For example, my EpiPen could fit perfectly in V1, whereas V2 disappointed. The zipper in V2 also scratched my power bank, which never happened in V1. On the other hand, V2 has a more durable exterior and would probably live longer. V1 kinda failed on me after 7 years of use, so I have been using V2 over the past 3 years on a daily basis. They are insured for life anyways, so you know you are buying a bag for life when buying PD. One last thing, customer service is great and agents are cooperative. I would pay a premium for a service like that.

Still my favorite, have been using everyday backpack V1 20L And switched to Zip 15L, then Zip 20L. Now that's worn out it's time for V2 20L, the black on black instead of ash is very cool and dirt free. I kind of like Zip's shape more but in terms of expandable space, everyday backpack is better.

This is a company that backs its lifetime warranty! The Everyday bag 20L is perfect for my short frame and carries everything I need for a weekend photo trip. When the side pocket zipper broke Peak Design customer service took care of replacing my old bag without hassle. I think it even saved my life! I slipped on a rock while photographing a waterfall and luckily I fell away from the edge of the mountain. The backpack kept me from hitting my head on rocks and protected my gear-not a scratch on anything! Dirt wipes right off. A great product and a great company that backs its guarantees.

Even though I'm not a photographer, I bought this backpack because I was intrigued by the idea of customising the inside and the quality. I needed a new backpack for my 16-inch MacBook Pro for an everyday city carry. This backpack works perfectly for me, and even though it's just a 20-litre version, it can safely hold my 16-inch MacBook Pro. However, it's not the most comfortable backpack. The main issue is that it doesn't have an adjustable frame or height adjustibale back straps. I'm 175 cm tall, and I definitely feel this lack of adjustability. For me, the backpack should sit a bit lower which means my shoulders have to carry most of the weight. For this reason, as a hiker, I wouldn't take this backpack even for a short hike. It's a shame that a waist belt isn't included. But since there's no frame adjustability, the waist belt would most likely be wasted on me, because for my body shape, it would be way too high.

I have been using this backpack now since it was first introduced a few years ago. I has survived countless trips to many countries and environments and it still looks like I bought it yesterday. All the features from side pockets to lid to organizational elements have served well in regularly changing configurations and I am looking forward to use it in the years to come!

My third everyday backpack from pd in the most beautiful color. So practical for my everyday using - laptop, smaller camera, phone and some small stuff. ideal luggage for lighter things, to the city, work, for short trips, etc. For longer trips and all-day wear, I would rather choose an outdoor backpack or a travel backpack, if that suits you better.

I bought the backpack back in 2021, for the past 4 years I have been rocking it back and forth on my daily commute to work and back and the occasional leisure trip. The origami separators have been an amazing feature allowing me to properly organize my backpack so that I don't need to worry about everything getting clumped up together. The backpack has been holding out pretty well to the daily use.
