I bought this bag to haul extra gear places my roller won't go. This year I can say I really put it through its paces and am very pleased with it. In terms of comfort I find it very good. I'm honestly a bit confused at some reviews I've read that said it's not a comfy bag. This summer it's been used hard on multiple jobs and worn in excess of a couple hours. The hardest test yet has been packing it with lighting gear, stuffing climbing gear in top, as well as loading a rope over it to go out and do some climbing photos. Even after a few miles being loaded down I didn't find it uncomfortable at all. Design wise my main complaint is having the side compartments with dual zippers. I find the bottom ones completely unnecessary and end up using the loop locks to keep them from accidentally coming open. This also detracts a bit from weather sealing as now if I set it down in a grimy area I really want to make sure the zippers are all the way closed on the bottom so nothing gets in the bag. The other negative is the dividers, they're just not that great. They don't hold weight well and if I put a smaller lens in the center using the flip up design for smaller segments it just knocks it down and then floats around the bag. With that said I would not recommend this bag to haul a bunch of smaller lenses, flashes, etc and keep it well organized. However for throwing a camera with a large 70-200 or 24-70 in it's perfect. And one other complaint is that it uses a divider to separate the top section, this is fine unless you plan to store grimy stuff up top, then it's likely to get all over your camera gear. Really this is more like a 3 star bag in terms of usefulness however the styling, latch system, comfort, and quality are better than anything I've ever seen on a camera bag.

I now use Peak Design Everyday backpack for pretty much everything. The pack allows access from the top and from each side, and it has flexible dividers inside so you can easily have a camera in one part of the pack and still have access to other areas without having to move the camera. It's large, but still fits in airline overhead storage. I can fit a camera, two lenses, and clothing and other gear for a week of travel. There is also a pocket running the length of the pack to fit a laptop or notebooks, etc. I think one other reviewer criticized the way the straps distribute weight. That is an issue. This is not a pack designed to carry 30 or more pounds of camping gear on a long hike. But I have hiked 8 to 10 miles with camera, three lenses, and a medium size tripod without stopping and have found the weight manageable. I think the zippers could be better. They have not failed. I just think they could be better. There are straps on the top and on either side that allow you to carry it like a more conventional bag. The straps and clips that allow you to sling other gear onto the outside of the pack are unusual. They are not the snap-buckles you see on many packs. Instead, they are more like flattened hooks that latch into miniature pockets or loops on various parts of the pack. (Not a great description, but that's the best that comes to mind.) Finally, the pack is not soft, like a knapsack. You cannot compress it if it is empty. That doesn't bother me, but it means you cannot simply stuff it away if it is empty.

I love the weight of this - I can carry as much as I had in my Ona backpack while keeping it lighter both on my back and in my wallet. The design is well thought out, but I am struggling a bit with remembering what side of the bag which gear is in and much prefer a bag that I can lay down safely, open and see all of my gear organized without it toppling over. I'm mainly using this for travel. All in all, it's a beautiful, thoughtful bag.

I have been using the same backpack that has 20L capacity (smaller version). It is perfect for everyday town use. But when I go outside town for longer photographing trip, it is a bit small to hold all I need. So, this 30L version is just suitable for me for such a couple of days' hikes.

I was looking for a camera backpack to double as a diaper backpack when out with my daughter. Read a review on The Verge and was convinced. Just took it on vacation to Chicago and it was awesome. Was able to carry my Fuji X100F with all accessories, my Nintendo Switch and things for my daughter. It all fitted and was very comfortable. I have never been impressed by a backpack until now. They thought of everything from the side pockets to the chest strap. If anyone is every thinking about this backpack I would not hesitate and purchase it.

I had been looking at upgrading to a new bag this past year, and it's very overwhelming considering the options everyone offers. First of all, the marketing from peak design brought me in. The design of their brand is very well thought of, and better yet, the integration between their product lines is beautifully done. I'm a wedding photographer and I wanted to have a bag that I could travel with to shoots and also into town when I want to edit. This bags is extremely cunstimozable for so many set ups and I love that. The build quality is well crafted and it is a pleasure to lug around anywhere. Super friendly bag for airplane carry that can pack a big set up. So worth the investment. You won't regret it.

I have been looking for the perfect all around backpack, and have purchased a number of backpacks, and the peak design everyday backpack is the best one so far. I would recommend this bag to anyone who is looking for versatility when it comes to backpacks

I own several Peak Design products and have been a fan of their gear for a while. Their attention to detail, quality, functionality and design is first class. Their latest product, the Everyday Backpack is no exception. The quality is superb. The ingenuity and thoughtfulness when it comes to features and functionality is something they do extremely well. The one place where this bag has fallen short for me is comfort. Perhaps it's still too new and stiff, but frankly, it's not really that comfortable to wear; especially when it's carrying a camera and an extra lens or two. I feel like the back panel is too stiff and not padded enough. Same goes for the shoulder straps. I feel like, in theory, because of the pivoting attachment points, they should fit like a glove, but they don't. Again, maybe it's because the bag is so new and stiff. Maybe it will break in with time and be more comfortable. However, I have owned camera backpacks that cost 1/3 of what this bag costs, and they were much more comfortable from day one. I originally purchased the 20L via their Kickstarter campaign, but that bag was way too small. I feel like that size would be ideal for a mirrorless camera setup, but for my 5D III, it was too small. It felt like a little kid's backpack. I sold that on eBay and bought the 30L from Adorama. The size of the 30L is perfect for my needs. It allows me to carry all the gear I want or a combo of basic gear and other non-photography related items. I have one year old twins, and I have even used it as a hybrid camera bag/diaper bag. That is pretty impressive and speaks to the virtually unlimited adaptability of this bag. So to summarize, I would recommend this bag if the price isn't a concern and you want an extremely adaptable bag that will allow you to carry a lot of different types of gear in a ton of different configurations. However, the carry comfort of the bag, at least for the time being, leaves a lot to be desired. In the end, I feel like maybe it's even a 3.5 star bag, but since a half star isn't an option, I think the quality of the materials and the clever design, earn it the half star up-rate.
