My camera likes it best on the clip. There, it is always ready to shoot. In a little rain it gets a shell and in heavy rain, It'll go into the backpack. There is the camera cube. Together with the cube, it will go into the tent or into many other bags. The cube is light and comfortable. It reduces condensation by keeping temperatue changes low, especially in the morning. It keeps the batteries warm, that is important for charging, and it keeps the inside of the tent tidy because the camera stuff is all in there. Still, if there's anything to shoot at night, the camera is out in seconds. Ride the clip, rest in the cube and be ready for the next picture. A7C with 20, 40, 50 or 85 mm.

I wish I would have purchased this sooner. Super versatile and I use it all the time. Sometimes for protecting my camera in my main suitcase, sometimes as a dedicated sling with a PD strap, and sometimes as an insert into my Bellroy sling. Holds a small body + 2 lenses, or in my case a Leica Q3 + Ricoh GRIII

This camera cube perfectly fits my Sony a7iii and Tamron 28-200 mm, as well as other small stuff like an extra battery, SD card case, and other things.

A perfect addition to the outdoor sling. The quality is very good. It's great that Peak Design has thought of attachments for bags and backpacks.

I had the Small V1 Cube for a few years paired with the 45L Travel Backpack, but had always thought it was bigger than I needed since I rarely travel with more than just the Fuji X-T2 and 16-80 F4 lens mounted on it...so it took up more internal space than I liked. It's well made, sturdy yet lightweight. The removable top padding is useful when this is used inside the 45L Travel Backpack and you just don't need padding there but want the flexibility to fold the lid back for permanent side access. Now with the XS, it can fit this camera/lens combo perfectly, but just, so if I don't need any other lenses, this is ideal and gives me more free space in the backpack for other things (like the day's shopping haul). I sold the S to get this XS, but now that I've thought about it some more, maybe I should've kept the S as well in case I did have a trip where I wanted to bring more than 1 lens, because this XS can't store it. At least having both would've given me some packing options...but I have no regrets on getting the XS because this is normally what I'd pack on a trip. One thing to note though is that the XS only comes with 2 C-clips so it's not going to connect nearly as securely as using 4 would (especially if you want to configure it for side access and not have it wobbling around). I contacted PD and they were awesome in shipping out some more clips for me, but do keep this in mind.

Got this with he 7L sling bag, fits great and works well for a small mirorless camera (an Olympus) as as well a film camera as long as it and the eons isn't that big, I carry an Olympus OM 1 film camera as well.
