This Hip Belt v2 is compatible with a separately available Peak Design Everyday Backpack v2 or Peak Design Everyday Backpack Zip.

I bought this a few months to help weight transfer to my hip and to add stability while long walks. 
Pros: This adds stability and helps transfer weight to the hip. It is very easy to install onto the 30L Everyday bag and stays. put there! 
Cons: First of all, a hip belt should be standard on the 30L Everyday. The strap seems to be a bit too wide for the buckles and it is real hard to pull on the strap and expect the strap to tighten. You have to use two hands, grab one side and pull on the other side. Also, would be great to have a zipper pocket on the left side of the hip belt. 
I also own the 45L Travel Backpack and the hip belt comes standard on it and also made better and works real well single-handed. So, I was expecting the same level of design functions on the Everyday Hip Belt as well. 
I would still keep this and use it

Looks great but not as easy as the 45L version

The price is way too high for just the 1 feature it offers. Would be nice to see a version 2 at the same price point that offers some added features like a secret pocket or hip belt that can be used as a sling bag when removed from the bag.

Too expensive for what it offers + add features

Purchased for use with 30L everyday backpack. I like that this can be attached when needed and removed when not needed. It can also just stay attached and folded up in the luggage pass through area of the backpack.

It adds a lot of stability when carrying the bag, and it does not have to be adjusted each time. It works very well.

The instructions are not very detailed, so it took some trial and error to figure out how to adjust it correctly so the weight actually falls on the hips.

My primary issue is with the storage pouch it comes with. It is quite difficult to open and close. This design could be improved.

Another minor nitpick is that there are no markings showing which side is up when attaching the bag. I attached it upside down a few times.

But these are minor complaints because I think most people have it always attached and just fold it and stow it when not using it.

This is a great hip belt overall.

Does what it's intended to do

I bought the 30L PD travel backpack as my one bag for shorter trips. I love the bag alone but it is made much more comfortable with the addition of this hip belt, especially when it's fully packed while standing in lines or public transport.

Great addition to travel backpack (30L)

Bought it for my everyday 30l backpack and couldnt be happier. 30l of gear weights a lot but this little fella made carrying it no problem. Imho this should be standard with 30l backpack.

Hips dont lie!

I use my everyday backpack every day, and hiking is no exception. No matter how much is tuff in my bag, I know I can hike comfortably placing a lot of the weight on my hips. When I don't need the hip belt, it's super easy to either fold into the luggage pass through on my backpack or just pack away in the included carrying case. The loop and hook mechanism gives me confidence that I won't have another broken plastic buckle to deal with, another genius move by PD. I haven't tried the capture clip as I don't have one, but I'm sure it's a huge bonus.

A hiking lifesaver

It works great and really eases the load off your shoulders and onto your waist, as it should. The only downside, I wish it came with a more clip-in buckle, instead of a slide-thorugh-the-loop buckle. Also, for the cost of the backpack, it really should have come with it

The hip belt does its job of taking weight off the shoulders. It's great for hiking and long treks. Unfortunately, because there is no height customization of the shoulder straps or hip belt, how well the belt fits and takes the weight off your shoulders is up to chance and body mechanics.

Ultimately, my biggest grip is the packaging. Like many other PD products, the cloth bag that this comes in is useless and wasteful. If the aim was to be eco-friendly - it was a miss. Clothware is extremely damaging to the environment and doesn't break down when thrown out. I now have several of these little baggies that I refuse to throw out and just collect dust. Unfortunate.

Great product, bad packaging

I have the 20L everyday backpack, and with my camera and some big fast lenses it gets kinda heavy. To the point where the shoulder straps are uncomfortable after wearing for several hours. Enter the waist strap, and my comfort levels have increased significantly. Now just like my backpacking pack, I can distribute the load between hips and shoulders. Much better. And there's plenty of room for adjustment no matter what size you are around the middle.

I love my bag again

I lack the hip accentuation so your mileage may vary but I am a 30in waist and while the quality is very nice, this is a bit of a loose to difficult fit for smaller waisted gentleman and maybe ladies. Just thought I would throw that out there. It can be adjusted to "fit" but has a lot of slack and I wasn't feeling the utility. Kind of a lean-guy's problem I guess

Hip Belt for skinny dudes and lady dudes

I bought this for my PD Everyday Zip 20l backpack. Overall it is a effective and efficient accessory with smart design. To me, it came with multiple benefits:
- Hold the backpack closer to your body, making long walking less labor
- Create extra position to hold your camera on your wist. I love this feature!!!
- Foldable design makes the belt not dangle around when not used

A perfect companion for PD backpack!

It works well with the backpack, but I wish it was included with the backpack instead of a separate purchase. Attaching a capture clip make it more difficult to tuck it away inside the backpack slit.

Works well with the everyday backpack

I bought this with the travel 30L backpack, and it works well on distributing the weight more off my shoulders. It probably should be included in the 30L backpack, but it does work well. One possible improvement would be to add an easy way to put extra strap length away on the side with the capture clip anchor points, but other than that, its nice! Would also maybe like another anchor point on the other side, for more flexiliblity.

Well designed and works

When loading up my 30L it offers good support and extra versatility with capture mounting points. However when not loaded up the belt is in this odd limbo of easy to fold away yet easy to remove. Unfortunately I find myself removing more often then folding, as the straps and buckles can be felt though the rear padding sometimes. Perhaps I'm doing it incorrectly, I've tried  a couple arrangements of strap rotation but they are still noticeable against my back. I don't want to nitpick but this is essetanly the only "issue" I've found with it. Otherwise its a great expandable options.

Great! but does it need to fold?

I totally recommend this product if you plan to go hiking or take longer walks with the Everyday Backpack, it makes the backpack much easier to wear. However, the front strap is too slim for my liking. A wider strap would make the whole think much more comfortable, especially if you want to close the belt tightly.

This makes the bag even better. It is comfortable and easy to use.

Great addition

After trying other backpacks and walking around constantly rearranging my shoulder straps because of the discomfort I decided to give Think Tank a go and I am so happy that I did!! I am a 51 year old petite female that likes to carry a lot of excipient. Lol I weighed my backpack in at 25lbs. I was shocked that after 6 hours of hiking?my shoulders or my back were not tired or sore!! It?s the way the backpack rests on your lower back/upper bottom that relieves the pressure from your shoulders. I seriously at one point had to stop because I was worried that I hadn?t zipped up my bag and lost some equipment because the bag felt so light!! Love love love this backpack!!!

Most comfortable backpack ever!!

I'm 6'2" with a 40" waist.  The belt will fit around me but the areas that are supposed to ride on my hip bones barely reach those bones.   Two or three more inches of length added to the side panels would be much better.

Nice sleek design but too small for big people.

It's a great addition to the bag and nicely engineered to fit in in the existing passthrough loop.  My only complaint is that the capture clip is very hard to use even when placed in the closer attachment as it's too far around the side.  I will try with a pro pad to see if the motion is easier to enter vertical instead of sideways.

Great extra item

After using my new 30L on a trip, I wished for more stability and comfort when it?s full and heavy. This add-on really does the trick and fits in perfectly with the bag. It?s a little more fiddly than I?d like, same as the chest strap, but it?s not too bad. It kind of seems like it should have just come with the bag to me, but I?m grateful it exists and it?s pretty cheap (for peak design).

A comfortable upgrade

Purchased Everyday Hip Belt for use of Everyday Backpack Zip on hiking trips.  It was made carrying the backpack effortless and made  hiking trips more enjoyable.  Reduced weight of bag and access to contents much easier.  Can highly recommend.

Everyday Hip Belt

I don't have a larger than average waist but when I put my capture clip on the waist belt it's too far around to my bank to be used.

Good but too short

I?m a Peak Design loyalist because of its quality, functionality, look, and durability. I use my 30L v2 bag for carrying my wedding gear and occasional hikes. The waist belt has been a tremendous benefit. Easy to install, use, and pairs nicely with my cameras when using the Capture clip. Again, I?m bias and love their products. Clearly because they do what I need them to do consistently.

Great Addition for Hikers (Worth the purchase

Everyone with the biggest « everyday backpack » and walk with while it?s full should have one. It permit you to have your shoulders better at the end of the day. That maybe should be by default with the bag in my opinion

The best tool for your bag

I have the Black Hip Belt.  I find it very comfortable and it provides me with even more support during the day.  It is not overly bulky in any way.  I do wish it had a zipper pocket on the opposite side from the capture compatible side.  But yeah when you have a V2 backpack with ample space why bother right?   Either way its construction and design are wonderful. Plus it comes with a nice carry bag for when you are not using it which (I should've know it would) was very unexpected and a nice touch!

It holds me tight

The belt makes carrying your Everyday Backpack V2 a lot comfortable and it was a snap to install.
That said, it should come standard with the backpack as without the belt it is uncomfortable for a long distance walk.
