I upgraded bikes last year and could no longer use my out front bike mount (big plug, it was a fantastic product) and needed a new mount for shorter city rides on my new Canyon areo handlebars. While it's not a perfect fit, it's held tight while riding some questionable terrain (i.e. stairs) and I love having my music and directions accessible on longer rides.
I'd love to see a V2 someday with more focus on wrapping around less circular bars and more dynamic shapes (like my areo bars, or Swedish grocery carts)

Functional for Commuters

I bought this Universal Bar Mount about two years ago, and I use it quite frequently on shared bikes. (My own bike has a fixed mount.) I always carry this Universal Bar Mount with me, to navigate in other cities with shared bike systems, and this works perfectly..

Unfortunately, just after two years in use, the rubber strap begins to show signs of cracks, and it's a matter of weeks I fear before it snaps. I thought it would have lasted longer for this price.

Very useful+practical, but worn out after 2 years

I wanted the convenience (the snap on and one hand release is unlike anything else out there) and security (I've had my phone stay attached through an over-the-bars motorcycle crash) in a form I could easily attach to multiple bikes. This is it. 

I wonder if under heavy use the rubber might degrade after time (years, I imagine), but Peak's customer care is the best, and I know if that were to happen, I'd be taken care of. I'm a fan, can you tell?! ??

The best for flexible use

Have been using it for a couple days and ao far it's working great. Super easy to install/remove (in case you're leaving your bike in a non ideal spot) and the phone seems to be auper secure even in bumpy paths. Also quite easy to adjust the angle for better visibility. Amazing mount system overall!

Appears bombproof

I bought this after watching a YouTube video about quad locks and the difference. The pros and the cons and after seeing that video. I then looked up another video put on by the makers. And I love the humor in the video and the flexibility of the product. And most importantly how well intact it stayed once locked. So I bought one hooked it up to my phone and took it for a nice bumpy bike ride. It stayed in place and did not slip not once it was secure and stayed that way the rest of my entire ride. I like the ease of putting it in to the locking system. And the ease of removing it. The peak design mounts won me over with their simple not bulky yet super secure locking system.

Universal bike mount

I was a bit skeptical when my spouse brought up purchasing these for our bikes. We already had mounts and really didn't "need" new ones. However, I'm so glad we did. This mount not only works for our bikes but also as a pop socket, a phone stand, it can mount to practically any surface and it doesn't topple easily either. Very happy with our purchase. 10/10 recommend.

Great bar mount!

So great I went back for seconds! Bought one to put my phone at easy access on a stroller while going on dog walks with my one year old. Used and liked so much, I got another for my jogging stroller so I didn't have to keep moving them.

Ready for some trails!

While they also sell other bicycle-specific mounts, I ended up getting this one to use as a mount on the stem, and I really like it for that. I like having my phone over the stem of my bicycle versus out front for a more minimalistic and cleaner look. I also like the ease with which I can remove it when not using my phone for navigation and throw it in my bag.

Works great. Very stable. Love that it is easily moved between bikes and is small to pack for cycle touring adventures overseas.

Very small but stable

I'm using the universal bar mount on a wheelchair. Two years of near constant daily use and it's still going strong. The chair has non-round tubing so this was an ideal solution that is minimalistic and low profile. The mechanism is secure yet easy to quickly remove the phone from the mount. Unlike competitors that require the phone to be rotated to attach, the satisfying and instantaneous magnetic click is almost magical and hassle-free. I highly recommend.

Simplicity, mastered

I thought this was safe to use when trail biking, but it sure as hell was not. The smallest bumps saw my phone rattle around when attached properly to the bar mount. I thought nothing of it, and expected it to be like this. Then I hit a slightly bigger bump downhill, and my phone flew off. My screen cracked, and the phone case was damaged. 

I contacted customer support and my situation did not apply to their lifetime warranty. They told me they could send me another case, which I said I did not want. I then told them how much it costs to return items from Norway and asked for some tips, to which they again replied with an offer of a new phone case. 

I will not be buying any of Peak Designs products again, as I can't trust them, nor am I happy with their customer support. I should have gone for Quad Lock first, which is much more secure.

Phone firmly attached

Over the last month I've been using this bar mount to mount my iPhone with the everyday case on my bike. The mount fits the bar of the bike well and the phone sits firmly on the mount even on bumpy county roads. The case attaches and detaches just as easily as in the marketing videos!

Works as marketed

Easy to use and works exactly like it says. I have the universal phone case adapter on my phone to use with this on my bicycle and my phone feels so safe and secure. Easy to install and remove, and I have no concerns while riding around my bumpy, hilly city.

No complaints!

I've been using this mount for well over a year now.  To qualify this, I've owned probably a dozen other mounts for various things, gopro's, phones, GPS.  Peak design is by far the best mount I've ever used.  I have the bar mount on my electric trail bike.  I use the bike for scouting in the mtns and fly fishing the small lakes.  Before anyone starts going off, I'm handicapped and it's the only way I can get out.  I primarily use it for the mapping features and programs on my phone and tablet.  Does it jiggle when riding on the trail?  Yes, no way around that but, no one should be trying to read the map while riding.  Stop, read the map and continue.  Does it slip on the bar, no, never.  The mount has not moved since I put it on the bars over a year ago.  I have a big phone and it also holds my tablet when I use that.  I've never had it slip even the smallest amount and I've never had a prerelease of any device.  It's simply the best you can get.

Best Mount for any Handlebar Period

This is a wonderful idea and appealed to me to put onto rental city bikes when I travel so I could look at maps on my phone, or even on my mountain bike to follow trail maps. It works well except my mountain bike has a curved handlebar which is thicker near the stem and slimmer towards the brake levers. So with the weight of my phone in its Peak case and the bumpiness of the trails, the phone slides towards the bar ends and spins around the handlebar.

Works well except when the bar is tapered

I bought this and the everyday iPhone case for a bike trip I took recently and it was perfect. Super secure and so much easier to use than my old iPhone mount.

Awesome phone holder

Easy to attach

I have installed this on my bicycle and it works very well. I can see it being extremely useful in any scenario where you have a bar or a post to attach to. Going to try putting this on my shoulder straps of my backpack as well.

Adaptable and works well

I bought this to use alternately on my gravel bike and stationary indoor bike and it fits perfectly. I also purchased the Everyday phone case for my iPhone 15 plus and although I would have liked it to have the finger loop it is still a great case.

Brilliant!

I previously purchased the Our Front Bike Mount for my road bike. I bought a new gravel bike which has a unique handle bar shape that the Out Front would not fit. The Universal Bar Mount is the answer to my new bike and works fabulously!
