I had my first bag years ago, and the amount of stuff I managed to fit in this travel bag would look like an AI advertisement. I recently bought a second bag for my wife, and she is loving it as well.

I sent this bag back for many reasons. The chest clip is dumb and cumbersome to use. It also doesn't have enough smaller storage areas. I don't recommend you buy the bag because these people will hang onto your money, not refund you, and ignore your emails. They've had the unused, brand new bag I sent back for 16 days and they have not attempted to refund my money and have ignored multiple emails. Avoid this company.

The 45L travel backpack is excellently designed; I love it. I love the organization provided: it's just enough so that my packing system is very modular, while not being overkill and annoying. The bag is also decently water resistant-it survived a Colombian rain shower just fine-which is very handy for traveling. Overall, this is a wonderful travel backpack. I'm living out of it for 7 weeks and it has been a great travel partner. My one design idea is to have a travel-safe pocket to store passports and cash. I'm traveling in South America, where bag cutting is not uncommon. While I know most bags would not survive a knife or determined assailant, I'd love the peace of mind of a lockable slash-safe pocket!

The best travel backpack I've ever used, very practical, great materials and lots of pockets to store everything.

I'm obsessed with this backpack. I have been looking for a travel backpack to use as a carry on that could potentially fit under an airline seat. I recently flew on a Boeing 737-max (3 by 3 seats in economy) and it would work if you don't fully expand it (use 30L/35L configuration) and sit in the window or middle seat. I was able to pack everything I needed for an 8 day trip because of the design. Highly recommend it!

I've been using the Peak Design Travel Backpack for about 3 months now, and it's easily the best bag I've owned. The build quality is insane-the material feels indestructible and the zippers never catch. What I love most is the access; being able to open it from the back, sides, or top makes packing and finding stuff so much easier. It holds a ton when expanded but handles the weight really well on your shoulders. Yes, it's expensive, but you can feel where the money went. Zero regrets.

This is a great bag in terms of functionality and features. However, the comfort is a major flaw; after about 20 minutes of wear, it becomes painful enough that it is effectively unwearable for me.

Bought this about 7 months ago. Have done 15 days in Japan, a week in Mexico, and several other shorter trips with it since. Fantastic bag. Holds a ton but can shrink down if you need it to. Some people seem to misunderstand the snaps, they're not really for compression, rather just to make the bag smaller if it's not full. Used it for both camera gear and regular packing and it's great for both. Would give it 4.5 stars if I could. Only thing holding it back is it definitely needs load lifters! Also maybe a second access to the front pocket so stuff in the bottom is more easily accessible.

I purchased the 45l for a 2week trip to Japan with my family. This pack worked perfect as a carry on with 1 set of clothes for me and my 2 kids and some camera gear in the XS camera cube and my laptop. Looks great, the straps could be a little more padded but is doable. Definitely recommend this pack.

Seriously impressive! I bought this backpack before my honeymoon to Greece in order to fit all my toiletries, extra change of clothes, laptop, books, etc and it fit everything perfectly with lots of room to spare. I didn't even need the expander zipper which was surprising given how much I managed to squeeze into it. The bag has so many great features & pockets. My favorite is the quick access zipper on the top for my passport, wallet, sunglasses, airpods, chargers, etc. The shoulder straps and chest strap made it very comfortable to wear. It also fit well under the seat on planes. I did find it a little hard to slip the backpack onto my suitcase when I had my water bottle in the side pocket, but this was just minor thing. Overall, very happy with this purchase and am now a Peak Design convert.

Love the travel backpack. Been using it since it first came out years ago and recently just bought a second. It perfectly fits one medium and one small packing cube. Fits my needs whenever I need to go somewhere for a weekend and don't want to drag a suitcase around. Perfect for weekend trips into Manhattan where there's typically lots of steps when navigating mass transit. First one has held up really well - basically looks new. Got the second one for my wife.

Pretty happy overall with this bag. I purchased it for a travel carry-on for an upcoming trip, but have also been using it for a daily bag for work even though it is a little large for an everyday bag. The collapsible top has helped with keeping the bulk down a bit. Pros: Premium materials, plenty of access, versatility. Many reviews say the straps are not comfortable, but my experience has been great with them. Cons: The top handle is difficult to grab as it is a bit too snug to the top of the bag. Occasionally the zipper for the large compartment feels like it gets stuck on one of the corners. Nothing jammed, just difficult to zip around the corner.

The backpack was great - good quality and excellent design. The larger Travel Backpack was too large for me so I returned 2 of them (one black and one ocean). The return process was a nightmare however. I had to chase the returns department multiple times and provide proof of posting and delivery to them several times before the return was issued weeks later.

This bag, a few packing cubes, and well though out clothes and there's no limit to how long you can travel. It is very sturdy, with tons of features and access.

I bought this to carry a mix of photographic and travel gear whilst moving between various forms of transport. I have carried it around for short periods with it loaded up to around 11·5 kg and it is fine. Routinely I have comfortably carried it for a couple of hours loaded to around 7-8 kg. The hip belt and the chest strap help a lot with comfort What I like best: -The easy access; -The side access that can avoid opening up the whole case just to reach a camera; -The stowable straps that are great when moving between modes of transport; -The many compartments; -The multiple handles. -The security tabs on the zips; -The compression poppers that make the bag look so much sleeker. What I think might be improved: -The side-opening zips are single ended. Double ended would be nice; -When lifting a well stuffed bag using the side handles, the compression poppers invariably come undone. Overall, I have found this to be a very versatile, convenient and durable bag that works even better with the camera cubes and I am very happy with my choice.

The 45L is best travel backpack out there. It is durable and still perfect condition after over 600 flights. It easily packs 5 days for my business trips, and laptop, tablet, 18" travel monitor, mini pc and keyboard and two PD tech pods. I even pack two suits on occasions. It fits in the overhead bins even in the smaller planes like the CRJ900.

I bought a factory second version of this bag and the zipper doesn't work. PD doesn't give a warranty for their factory second bags even though they claim the bags aren't defective. That's false marketing. One shouldn't have to pay $175 for a bag that doesn't work.

Bought this a little over a month ago and was suprised at how much I am able to fit into it. Pockets both internal and external are great for all the various chargers and gadgets I have on trips.

I was obsessed with this backpack since the first time I saw a YouTube video about it, and I basically knew every feature I was gonna get when it arrived. So I knew about the 500 features this bag has, the compression, the versatility, and, of course, the straps. I didn't really care because during my whole life I've been a backpack guy, taking one with me everywhere I go, so my mind said "we´ll tank it, right?". So I did, and it kind of worked, but the flaws of the support and comfort that this bag should provide are too noticeable to not feel it when walking for longer than 1 block. Again, I can tank it, but maybe I shouldn't have to. Everything else has been an absolute blast, the expansion is life saving, and being a really medium heighted person (1.80m) the compressed mode doesn't look gargantuous for an EDC use as I expected. I´d definitely buy the next version if they do something about the padding and overall comfort. But im so happy with my purchase that I can see past this not-so-minor flaw

I have a lot of different backpacks - hiking, mountain biking, backpacking, ski touring, work, you name it. The 45L is by far my favourite backpack.. So much so that apparently I feel compelled to write a review about it LOL First off, if you're thinking about buying the bag, watch the video walkthrough of it on YouTube. That was extremely informative for me before purchasing. It's just so versatile. I travel alot for work - every 6 weeks - and this bag has been a gamechanger for me. Its extremely well organized, fits with various packing cube systems (I have a 3rd party brand), and fits my big honking hydraflask water bottle on the outside of the bag which I appreciate. The ability to shrink the bag to a 30L size is useful once I'm at a destination and want a slightly smaller, more work oriented laptop. I've started to use it as a duffle bag too now for personal vacations/road trips/weekend getaways. I tuck away the shouldwr straps, unzip the middle divider, and now I have a duffle that I can just carelessly toss clothes into. Seriously great bag. A pricey bag, but an incredible bag.

I bought this backpack in April of 2022, almost exactly 4 years ago and I have to say I love this backpack. BUT unfortunately, I lost the chest strap after 1 year (which is holding by simple pinching hooks, so easy to loose). Also, the main zipper only lasted 3 years. I've been dealing with this broken zipper for 1 year now. I did not yank on it nor anybody else around my backpack. This happened from simple day to day use.

Purchased for a trip to Kenya with three locations. Used in conjunction with a large camera cube, Neoprene body bag, small neoprene pancake lens holder. I carried a 150-500mm, a 70-180mm, a 26mm, Nikon Z6 body, large bathroom dop kit, puffy jacket in a compression bag, paperwork, 3 batteries, large rocket blower, camera strap and various other items. Very useful on safari drives where I could carry my puffy jacket, rain jacket and camera outside the camera cube and other gear in the pocket areas. Weight with gear was about 26 pounds. The backpack itself is about 8 lbs, which means solid protection, and weight. I love the design, but even if that does not float your boat watch the YouTube videos and check out the versatility. Best backpack I have ever owned. For at home, I will get an extra-large cube for my longer lenses.

I just bought this bag and am happy overall with the size, weight and structure. My complaints are twofold, first that the inside pockets on the sides are so small they are practically useless and two, opening the bag to look for something is not easy. The tiny inside pockets may be tactical for some people but I intent to use this as a carry on backpack so there's little I can fit in the pockets. Similarly, the design of the bag is great for packing and unpacking but not great when you need to reach into your bag in an airport or on the plane.

This has quickly become one of my favorite bags. It is beautiful and functional. I have a rather large, bulky, laptop that isn't easy to accommodate; however, this bag's dedicated laptop storage handles it just fine.

Bought the 30L version of this travel backpack and have traveled with it now maybe 4-5 times. Love how the bag opens up for easy packing and access to everything inside (no digging around inside to find what I want). Also really convenient to have access on the top side, especially when the bag is stowed under the seat in front on the plane. It's almost perfect except for one big miss IMO. You cannot easily slide this bag on top of a roller bag handle in the upright position (like every other backpack)! You have to turn it sideways and then hold the strap on the back open while mounting it onto your roller bag handle. I don't get it. It's very awkward. Fix this and I would give it 5 stars instead of 4.
