I waited 11 months to buy it ! I should have not waited I had the plate with the clutch CL 3. I ordered the capture 3 days after having used the clutch and the capture is just an amazing piece of metal. It is well designed and built as well as discret. I have put it on my bag's strap or on my belt and often forgot I have it... Although I believe this product to be perfect, may be an additional safety notch would be a nice addition for clumsy people (based on the idea of a rotative locking system - See Ghosts gun holsters for IPSC. (I have seen angry comments from clumsy people:))

I have the capture clip attached to the strap of my backpack. I don't worry about the camera coming loose from the capture clip or the clip coming loose from my backpack. The design is well thought out. It would be nice if the quick release button was 3-4mm longer in order to get a better grip. That button must be rotated to unlock and allow the camera to be removed from the clip. I like that Peak does stand behind their warranty. Once I proved purchase and ownership of the clip, they shipped the replacement part. They were very good in providing status of the shipping.

I use this to get the weight of my camera off my neck and onto my backpack (and thus distributed around my back and hips). It is also brilliant for stopping that annoying camera bounce as you walk. It is a very clever design that stays rigidly in place but it easy to use with the little release button and clear click into place. One of my most favourite bit of camera tech.

I got the clip last winter and finally got to use it on small hiking trip about 2 weeks ago near Cumberland Falls in KY. We hiked about 9 miles over 2 days. I connected the clip to the left strap on my backpack style camera bag. The clip is a comfortable and convenient way to carry a camera (Canon R5 + RF24-105) when walking. It's as out of the way as it could be and still be readily accessible. Until recently I was shooting weddings and for work like that, the clip probably isn't the best choice because other setups allow faster access. But neither the belt/holster or dual camera harness options would be good at all for walking in the woods or tight trails. I took many more photos on this last trip because I didn't have to stop, remove my bag, open it, shoot, and put it all back. The straps on my camera bag don't have a chest strap to connect them. I was comfortable enough without one but it would be better with one. I had water bottle in my camera bag on the same side as the camera clip and it pulled to that side a little. I finally moved the water bottle to the opposite side and it was better balanced and didn't feel like the left side was trying to slide off my shoulder.

After having purchased several other items from Peak Design, I bought the Capture as part of a bundle because, hey, who doesn't love saving money! It's super easy to clip the camera in and remove it but takes a bit of practice to do it smoothly with a larger or heavier lens, which I think is because the lens affects my sense of the location of the camera's attaching plate. I think it's especially useful with a point and shoot camera when attached to a backpack strap.

I bought this last week and got to test it with my 3L Everyday Sling and my phone during the week end. Putting and removing the creator kit is really easy. I tried jumping a bit with at and it held firmly! The only annoying thing (that's more of an Everyday Sling 3L issue, I guess?) is that once attached to the capture clip strap on the sling bag, it gets a bit in the way of the zipper.

Bought this to use on my Peak Design 3L Sling but found out it works great on my small REI Flash 18 shoulder strap. I use a Clutch on my Nikon Z50 (better for me than the Micro Clutch because of battery access and strap size) and the base clicks into the Capture perfectly and I don't have any fear of it coming loose or undone. I debuted the Capture for myself during a 3 day Science Camp chaperoning overnight in Prescott and it was so convenient and comfortable to have this keeping my camera ready to go on my left shoulder. I have completely ditched the camera strap in favor of the Capture and Clutch. I didn't even know that the release button rotated a quarter turn to lock until I enabled it by accident! I've seen lots of knock-off designs on other sites like Temu and Amazon, but I don't know if I would trust them to hold my expensive gear, especially after experiencing how well the Capture works for me. Summer vacation is coming up and I am looking forward to using it on a bigger daypack when I go on bigger and longer adventures. Great product and highly recommended!

I am an amateur photographer and bought this as a means to carry my DSLR on hiking/backpacking trips. I was tired of having my camera slung over my shoulder and flopping around when hiking. This mount is easy to install on the backpack strap and simple to use. Peak Design has great tutorial videos as well to help with this process. I have used it on local hikes up to 13 miles on fairly technical terrain and haven't had any issues with security or ease of use. It's definitely a game changer if you're looking for a way to carry your camera that makes getting it quick and convenient with having the piece of mind that your equipment is secure.

I got his clip for when i went hiking for a few days. I used in on my backpack strap and it was really convenient, the camera was help in place very well even on the more adventurous parts of the hike. All in all a great purchase and addition to my PD strap.

I've put this purchase off for a few years because I use an L bracket by RRL and wasn't sure how much of a pain it would be to swap the baseplate just to have the convenience of clipping it to my backpack strap. Luckily my L bracket has a screw hole that fits the Peak Design plate! Yes I'll have to remove it, but I think it will be worth saving my neck. The part itself is beautifully machined and simple. It fits on my backpack strap no problem. Can't wait to try it out in the field.

I refuse to wear a backpack that doesn't have a Capture attached to it. In fact my main two photo backpacks have one on each side, it's that good! Quality and functionality are both top notch!

I bought this clip to have a convenient place to store my camera and still be able to use both hands. This clip just works and saved me a lot of trouble when im out shooting and needed both of my hands to do something. Great for lens changing too.
