Product works, but barely. Light output is NOT variable, altho the blurb says it is. Sensor is not very discriminating. light level has to be pretty low for slave function to work. Also, flash fires on it's own when moved from shade to sun

Useful as an expensive slave flash to enhance flash photography options.

I travel light...so it is great to carry in a mini-camera bag and to pull out for fill in flash.

Worked five times as a shoe-mount, then became unreliable. I could never get it to work as a slave. It then died and won't even turn on (No 'Ready' light, no flash).

Didn't work right out of the box. Dead, but batteries get too hot to touch after about three minutes. Pity, because it looks well made, and the shoe nount and extension bracket is much better quality than I expected.

The Polaroid PLASF18 Slave Flash features four slave modes that allows it to work with cameras that fire their built-in flash instantaneously or that have single or multiple flash red-eye reduction systems. The flash comes complete with a bracket.
