I have two of these. I attached one on my Peak Design backpack strap permanently and use the other on my belt when not using the backpack. I love the fact that it holds the camera securely and takes a load off my neck. However, I find that although the Pro Pad on my backpack is better than not using the Pro Pad, I still feel some discomfort when walking with the weight of the camera/lens on my chest. Would be better if there was a version that had a wider, more cushioned design for backpack use.

I've been using a Capture Clip for many months, but just recently decided to add a Pro Pad for even better carrying. This small device makes such a difference in carrying comfort and stability. When I'm out for short day photo hike, and all I need is my small waist pack and camera, the capture clip and PRO Pad combo puts my camera in the perfect spot, and the hang is much better than Capture Clip alone on a waist strap or belt. Sometimes the smallest piece of gear makes a huge difference!

I'm using it on my backpacks with the capture and sometimes I wished it would be more cushioned, but it's still better than capture only!

I used this with a Canon R5 with a 100-500 telephoto and put it on my hip. It is still a little goofy having that massive camera flop around my hip if i have to run with it. But definitely does what it is supposed to do.

this is another product I was unsure about. However, after purchasing it, I am glad I did. It is very convenient to slip under your belt and attach the capture clip. Sometimes you buy a product that just works without fuss or mess. This is one of those products. It is such a simple design yet so well made and convenient

Saw this accessory on Peter Mckinnon's youtube channel and it really is amazing! Being able to keep my camera with me all day can make be heavy on the arms. Having the ability to carry it on my belt was a really game changer for me!

The PRO Pad adds stability that keeps the camera more secure and comfortable. The pad is constructed well and should last a long time.

I bought the PRO Pad to use on a Thinktank Slim belt and it works like a charm. I had no trouble fitting thr PRO Pad to the belt and once the capture clip is in place everythign sits firmly on the belt and never moves or shifts. I carry a Leica SL on the, so it?s a fairly big and heavy camera the PRO Pad and Thinktank Belt combo works well.

I bought these for use with the capture clips and what a difference they make! They enable me to be more agile whilst carrying my cameras on the capture clips when compared to having them directly on my belt. They feel very secure and durable but also look super professional!

Having Capture on the belt is extremely convenient, but heavier camera+lens combo causes the belt to rotate and the bottom end of the Clip to start digging into the side of my body. The Pro Pad greatly enhances comfort with heavier cameras. I would say even medium set-up would benefit from the increased comfort. And because Capture is connected to the Pro Pad, putting the Pro Pad + Capture on my belt is easier and more convenient than putting Capture alone on the belt. I own a lot of PD gear and this is as high-quality as anything else. A couple of things to point out: 1. Keeping Capture up against the belt requires a LOT of torque on the screws to clamp down on the Pro Pad so that it doesn't slide down with the weight of the Camera + lens pulling down on it all day. This is difficult to do with the thumb screws. Using the hex bolts was a no-go because I needed to be able to remove my belt and the Capture Clip to get through security check-points with metal detectors (pretty much everywhere including airports and theme parks). And I think the hex bolts may be a bit long. 2. Capture clip only mounts horizontally (vertical insertion). Vertical insertion is more secure (less prone to accidental release), but it is more difficult to remove camera with one hand. With horizontal insertion (with the lock button facing down), I can grab the camera's grip with 4 fingers and use my pinky to press the lock button. With vertical insertion, this is nearly impossible to do because the grip is much further away from the button and the angle is different.

Very tough and felt sturdy. Would be better if it had slightly more flexibility.

I bought this with the 30L Everyday backpack V2. Tried putting it on the backpack and on my belt with the Capture. Neither configuration with the PRO Pad was better than putting the Capture directly on the backpack or the belt for a Nikon D810 w/o battery grip, and totally unusable with the battery grip. The additional degree of freedom makes stability worst. I think it works better for APS-C or M43 cameras.

I had to buy the prod pad when I tried my new telephoto lense with the capture. And I was not disappointed! Before I had, it was simply too painful to carry my camera with the capture and with it, it's so much better! Definitely recommend it you have have heavy gear that you want to carry with the capture

Allows you to clamp both capture & lens kit indirectly to your belt ?as it wraps over your belt , you then clamp your capture to it .. this changes orientation of how camera att.latches on to vertical as opposed to side which I personally prefer

I bought this a few months ago and I have used it in several ways and situations, and it's helped out a lot. I've used it on my belt loop with a Capture Clip and Lens Kit, which makes a huge difference. Without the Pro Pad, I would not be comfortable carrying a 70-200 on the Lens Kit and Capture Clip on my belt loop. But with the Pro Pad, it is comfortable and secure! Also, I've mounted my Canon 5D Mark III (not a very small camera with a 16-35mm lens to my backpack strap with the Capture Clip, and putting the pro pad under the strap with the capture clip makes a huge difference. It does not rub into my shoulder or wiggle around nearly as much. It's just more secure and more comfortable! I love it!

I purchased this in November 2021 to go with the Capture Clip V3. My intended use for this was with my walkabout camera, an Olympus OM-D E-M1 II, and the pairing of the Pro Pad and the Capture Clip works like a charm. It supports the camera well and does exactly what I hoped.

Very nice option for your capture v3 clip. If you go for a walk you can have your camera clipped to your belt and not deal with a backpack.

I have been looking for a product like this for a long time. I needed a way to carry one of my DSLRs conveniently while being able to have quick access. I took the Pro Pad with me on my recent trip to N. CA for landscape photography. I connected the Pro Pad to my belt and felt secure hanging my Sony A7RIV and my heavy 16-35 F2.8 lense at my side. I hiked several canyons in Big Sur and traversed rocks along the rocky coast getting the photos I was looking for. The Pro Pad worked perfectly giving me the confidence to use it on my future photo adventures.

This looks sort of like a gimmick, but it really works when you're carrying a heavy camera/lens combination, and it's even helpful when you have a lighter combo. Walking around with the camera secured by the camera clip, you forget that it's even there.

An ingenious idea from Peak design, it gives absolute comfort when using the capture clip. I use this on my belt and it does stop the belt from pulling or rolling down. A very comfortable product to use and very affordable.

This Pro Pad allows me to use my Capture Clip in the correct position on my belt so I can quickly slide the camera on and off the clip which makes the whole experience a very comfortable one, especially on long shoots.
