This case feels high-quality, unique, and very well designed. From my experience with Peak Design products, I know that I'll enjoy using it next week on it's first trip. I also have great trust in the brand and their great support, customer service, and warranty program.

I bought one of these through Kickstarter and another from the NYC store. They are the best! I've dragged them through Kenya, Jordan, Rwanda, Egypt, Spain, Portugal, Toronto, Dubai, Frankfurt, Naples? you name it? it works like a charm. Super design, great easy access, practical bulletproof. It works great for camera gear and just everyday travel. Has so far fit every airline's sizer, rolls like mad on every surface. I've had to check one of the bags because of "one bag limit" and I've also had one stacked with about 20 other bags and the came through unscathed. I can't even tell from the outside which one travelled in the hold and conveyer belt drama. This is an outstanding piece of kit. I travel with it everywhere. The design team did miss a thing! One caution: the wheels are so frictionless, the bag can roll away on the slightest incline. On on the rare moving sidewalk with incline (Lisbon airport for example) the bag wants to roll down on you. I've discovered that you just use your foot to keep it a safe distance uphill. I've had Tumi's, Rimowa's, Hartman's? the works. This is the best built, most functional bag ever. And the big bonus: because it looks more or less like a black canvas blob, I don't think anyone will try to steal it.

I bought this about a month ago and have had the chance to travel with it for work three times now, both internationally and domestic. I'm a very frequent traveler, was pretty tired of dragging awful wheels to a hotel then opening up my suitcase folder style on the floor. This is designed so well. I find I can fit just as much from a total carry capacity, the wheels are INCREDIBLE, rolling well over cobblestones, NYC streets, airports you name it. I also greatly appreciate the sneaky storage for things like my wallet, portable power bank, or passport holder. Possibly my favorite feature as I can dump things in there as I go through security and customs, and they are much easier to get to even when compared to grabbing from a pocket in a backpack. Don't need to take the pack off, they are just all right there. It's also clearly very well made, which I appreciate. I was a bit hesitant to pull the trigger, but very glad I did. As someone who travels way too often for work, the little things really make a difference. Such an awesome add to my travel collection. Highly recommend

A carry-on is such a big part of your travel experience, and the Roller Pro Carry-On really makes a big impact. Carrying it around it so much easier with the strong handle and super smooth wheels, and packing and unpacking is also so easy with the single compartment and drawbridge. It's so great that my wife and I got another one so we can each travel with one.

I originally signed up for this early on because I genuinely liked the concept and trusted the Peak Design brand. I later canceled because the price felt difficult to justify, but eventually received an offer and decided to give it a try anyway. The build quality is excellent. The materials feel premium, the wheels are smooth, and the bag definitely feels durable and thoughtfully engineered. That said, after traveling with it more, I realized it simply wasn't the right fit for my style of travel. The biggest issue for me is weight. On paper it may not seem dramatically heavier than competing bags, but in real-world use it becomes noticeable quickly, especially once camera gear, laptops, batteries, chargers, and other travel tech are added. I also think the bag became a little too engineered for its own good. I found myself wishing it worked more naturally as "just a really great carry-on bag" without needing to think so much about systems, accessories, or specialized organization. I already use a small camera cube, so I eventually realized I preferred lighter and simpler luggage overall. The zipper/access design also felt more complicated than necessary for everyday travel use. One disappointment was the rollout experience. As an early supporter, I was given estimated timing that came and went, only to later see the bag appearing in retail stores before mine had arrived. Even though early supporters received better pricing, it still made the preorder experience feel less special than expected. Overall, I still think this is a very high-quality product and I respect the amount of thought that went into it. I think future versions could really benefit from: * reduced weight * simpler access/layout * a more travel-first approach * and making the core bag experience shine even without additional accessories I can absolutely see this working well for photographers carrying larger production setups. For my own workflow, I eventually realized I value lighter, simpler, more traditional travel gear.

Super awesome luggage. Everything screams quality. As someone who flies 140 flights a year, totally worth it for me.

The design of this bag is a dream come true with the clam shell opening. The wheels are outstanding making traversing airports very easy, though one must be mindful the bag may roll away from you because the rollers are too good! The reason I'm giving it a 4* is 1) there's not a 4.5 option, 2) it's on the smaller side so packing for a week or longer trip can be challenging 3) the expanding option needs work: you can unzip to expand the space but the space collapses so it's awkward to have to pull up on the bag to get it expanded and bag closed when using the expansion option for longer trips. Despite these small setbacks, it remains my go to bag for shorter trips. I would love to see a 23" carry on option for those longer domestic trips.

Roller Pro is a thoughtful, well-designed travel bag with practical touches that stand out. The roller system performs smoothly and handles well through airports and city streets. One thing I would love to see in a future version is wheel brakes or a locking mechanism-especially useful on public transit or uneven surfaces where the bag can slide around unexpectedly. The flexibility in packing is excellent, making it easy to adapt for different types of trips or photography gear setups. The magnetic pockets and organizational features are thought out and feel intentional rather than gimmicky. Overall, Peak Design paid attention to usability, materials, and travel workflow.

Have been using the case, and it suits almost all my needs. EXCEPT ONE: an outside stretch pocket for a water bottle is really missing. I would also settle for a clic-on solution, but carrying a water bottle in my hands while walking across an airport in the south really sucks

I travel regularly for work. Bought a nice hard shell carryon and it only lasted 1.5 years before the zipper broke and they couldn't repair. After that broke I bought be Peak Roller Pro carryon and love this thing. The clamshell fits so much more that typical bags. The attention to quality is evident in every detail and it looks great too. Love this thing and love the confidence in the warranty too!

I spent days trying to convince myself not to get this bag. I was looking for a bag that had good volume, was global carry on compatible, and would likely last me for years. I could not find anything that compared to this bag. I bought one and promptly had to buy another one for my spouse. The bag is incredible! When it rolls it's smooth as butter. The rails are so thin however it doesn't eliminate intrusion inside. I like the clamshell like opening with such a small footprint. The verticals storage slots are really efficient for storage of small items that may get tangled or lost. The laptop storage slot is not as strong as I'd like but will easily store the laptop if I'm gentle with the bag. Other companies have similar features but in my research and now having this bag I feel like PD does it better! Expensive but I really love having this bag.

I've been a huge fan of peak products and their innovative engineering for years. I have so many of there products for cameras, phones, travel, ect. I've turned so many friends onto them as well. I was gifted the Roller Pro for Xmas and it was ordered directly from Peak. Since another major retailer (B&H) was offering with the camera insert included, I just asked for a simple price match to save on wasteful returning and shipping two of the same big items across the country. First no reply, then following up they said they won't price match. So I reluctantly started a return, but they never sent return instructions and when I followed up on how to actually return, the agent said I was now past the return window, after it had already been approved. It's a $600 carry on bag, if you have premium products you should provide good customer service. The whole ordeal soured me on the company, I offered a reasonable win-win. They delayed and denied. No thanks Peak Design.

I Kickstarted this product, so I was rooting for it. Let me start with the good news: the wheels roll. Now the bad news. After two uses, one of the zippers failed near the hinge. You can actually see the zipper pulling off the track at the turn. That's a design flaw. By the third trip, I was packing backup straps just in case the second zipper gave out too. The laptop compartment eats up 7cm of depth. Most laptops are less than 1cm thick. That's a massive waste of space in a carry on, and it really should be called out in the specs so buyers know what they're giving up. Two stars instead of one because it does technically hold your stuff. Until the zippers fail.

I've done a couple trips with this bag and just love it. That it opens sideways vs the standard is genius. So much easier to quickly grab something on the go, and easier to pack as well. The wheels are amazing, almost too good as the bag will start to roll at the slightest degree of downhill. Not a complaint though, but watch out, it will start to travel by itself! Super happy and can't wait to put endless miles on it.

Got this suitcase as a gift as I love the brand. Absolutely amazing organization, style, and functionality out of this small case. I appreciate the overall design especially the carbon fiber elements. I use the bag for most all of my ski trips and have never had any issues with it. Amazingly made. Would reccomend.

I recently purchased the Roller Pro via REI. I have yet to travel with the Roller Pro, but first impression I can tell that its a high quality piece of luggage with a lot of thought put into the design. Overall I am happy with the purchase of the Roller Pro as well as my various other purchases from Peak Design. The obvious downside is the price, but if you want something quality that will last then go for it.

The Roller Pro is an awesome piece of travel gear. Nicely designed, with a lot of helpful details. Worked very well on my last 2 trips. Looking forward to see it in combination with the new upcoming 20L Backpacks as well for larger trips with my Travel Backpack 45L. The only downside is the weight... If PD could have it done with a bit less of weight I would rate it 6 stars.

Rather disappointed with this bag. Bought it on the promise that it fits international baggage allowances, spoiler, it doesn't. Particularly Korean airlines and Asiana. More than once I have been that person who had to rotate their bag such that it takes up a lot of linear room in the overhead. It has gotten checked more often than it has ridden in the cabin. Definitely not fitting in the Ryanair sizer (so prepare to check it). Does work for British Airways and Virgin, if we are being fair. Not that I care about this part, but it does seem to scuff rather easily. I think it is character, but some people will care. Rolls really nicely on carpet and smooth surfaces, not so great on the pavements of England or anywhere that peagravel is present. At home, super smooth. Around the airport, super smooth. To the taxi, iffy. On the pavements walking to your hotel, carry it. Ultimately this bag gets used for my train trips and car journeys. It is a shame that it does not work for my flights as I do like the drawbridge style. As others have mentioned though, the laptop sleeve is rather silly, for multiple reasons the least of which being putting lithium batteries (like the one in a laptop) in the overhead is forbidden and some airlines do check.

I know there are Peak Design fanboys out there. You can spot them in the wild. They have every single accessory. I never thought I would be one of them, but I am officially converted. This luggage is one of the most thoughtful pieces of transport that I own. The thing that stuns me the most is how quiet it is. I've had a lot of luggage from high-end brands to cheap bargain-bin quality, and this one smokes all of them. Huge fan of the attention to detail. I'm not a photographer, but I'm working in tech and traveling quite a bit over the last year. This bag has held up. It has earned my review, and I couldn't be happier with it. I fully intend to gift one to my wife for Christmas because she is often complaining about the telescoping handles in her bag.

I'm halfway through an extended European trip?so far the roller has been a star on planes, trains, automobiles and challenging cobblestone medieval streets. Highly efficient, high functioning, high capacity. This product is living up to my high hopes for the PD product.

I've had the Roller Pro since it was released. I've flown with it over a dozen times including internationally. I usually check it and carry on my PD Travel Backpack. The Roller Pro holds up to the abuse of baggage handlers, the fabric is tougher than any hard sided luggage big or small. Any unfortunate scuff that appears is easily wiped off. The wheels roll unbelievably smooth, the Roller Pro feels like it's floating. If you want bags or luggage that doesn't suck, then buy Peak Design bags. I've been traveling with them since 2018.

Upgraded to this bag after decades with a Lowepro roller bag. Been doing a lot of travel jobs recently and so far I'm loving it. It took a minute to reorganize things but I have it dialed in now and I'm stoked. If I could change anything, I wish there were multiple points where the handle could stop rather than always having to fully extend it. I have a Rimowa suitcase and that handle stops anywhere you want and I really love that feature. That's just me though? besides missing that little feature, the bag is a 10/10

I got this on Kickstarter in the eclipse color. I wanted to wait until I did some serious travel with this bag before I reviewed it. Note: I am not going to discuss the weight (or the wait...on Kickstarter), those things don't/didn't impact me. I've taken this bag on planes of various sizes, in cars, on buses, in vans, on shuttles, on trains, and on boats. I've also dragged it across all sorts of surfaces, sometimes with a backpack on the handle. It has always rolled smoothly and has fit in every designated carryon bin I've tried to put it in. It has help up very well in the rain, snow, and sand, and has taken a bit of beating on the exterior with aplomb. It is really a top notch bag and makes traveling generally more pleasant. So, why not 5 stars? For my use case, it is 5 stars, but I can't recommend it at that level for someone on the fence at its current price. It's not because it's not worth the money, it's that the money may be better spent elsewhere depending on what you carry and how you like to pack. I carry a blend of gear, electronics, toiletries, and clothes in mine. I use packing cubes and cases for all my stuff and like to keep everything in its place. This bag is perfect for that. Got some flat things? There's a place for those. Need quick access to a few things? Got that covered. It's more important to me to have a good place to put everything than it is to fit as much as possible in the bag. If you are the sort who likes to stuff as much as you can into a bag and don't care how you do it, I think you can save a few hundred dollars and look elsewhere. It's not that the bag doesn't hold a lot, it does, but you won't be taking advantage of what makes the bag special. This is a Peak bag, and like the rest of them, it rewards a more fiddly organizational style. I love the drawbridge opening. Not only does the bag not tip over or need as much space to open, the depth allows me to fit things I could not fit into an ordinary clamshell. I also love all the ways the upper compartment can be creatively used, with or without a laptop or tablet in the outer pocket. All the attachment points on the outside are very useful, as are all the grab handles. While all the elastic cords and restraints and hook things inside work well, the drawbridge catches near the opening can sometimes get caught in the zippers when I'm trying to close it. This is something to look at for future designs of this bag, or for a checked bag (please make one). Overall, I hope I can use this bag for decades, it makes traveling better for me. If you buy it, I hope it does for you, too!

Recently I've purchased two roller pros, one for my husband and one for my niece as a college graduation present. I've borrowed my husband's to see how it compares to my beloved carry-on. The bag is fabulous in so may ways. Almost like magic it absorbs a lot of "stuff" into what appears to be a small amount of space and never any quibbles about it fitting into the overhead bin. My one complaint is that it rolls far too easily if the floor has even a minimal slant. There I was, sipping my coffee and the bag went for a stroll all on it's own across the floor. Luckily I caught sight of it as it silently took its leave. I have warned my niece to keep it on a leash.

I love everything about the Roller-Pro!! I bought two with Kickstarter, one for myself and another for my kid. We liked them so much I bought another for my other kid with the open release. Especially appreciate it for the one who has a bit of cerebral palsy. So much easier to use. I've taken mine in one international and two domestics flights. Still like new. The front opening is a game changer.

I bought this on the Kickstarter campaign. The Peak Design Packing cubes are a perfect fit, and the amount of stuff I can fit in this carry-on is way more than expected. I came on an 8-day trip, and if it weren't for my laptop and iPad, I would have been able to do it with a single bag. I have had Samsonite, NOMOS, and Travelpro bags, and none come close to this from a quality and feature standpoint of the Roller Pro. The content can press against the device in the front pocket, but pack it tight, then expand it to relieve this space if needed.

Meet the next leap in luggage. Roller Pro Carry-On is a 4-wheeled travel roller in a class of it's own, built differently from the ground up to hold more, drive better, protect better, and look better. In a world of look-alike rollers made from stock components, we went where other bag makers wouldn't go-pushing the practical limits of manufacturing to set a new standard for roller quality, utility, and aesthetic.
It starts with the innovative SlimDrive trolley handle, built from rigid, flat, and lightweight carbon fiber. SlimDrive eliminates wasted space inside the bag while also eliminating the bending/twisting that occurs in traditional 3-section aluminum handles. It's a driving experience lightyears ahead of other rollers. Roller Pro's hybrid construction (polycarbonate internal shell + Versa Shell outer fabric) offers hard-sided protection with the organizational flexibility of soft-sided luggage-a combination you'll find nowhere else. Same goes for the unique drawbridge opening, which gives you total access while taking up half the footprint of the traditional clamshell design. Pack and unpack in tighter spaces, and visualize your stuff in a more compact format. An exterior EDC pocket allowes quick stowage/access for items like passports, glasses, and headphones in the security line and in-flight, and a protected laptop sleeve magnetically seals on its own to prevent accidental spillage. An external Cord Hook carry system allows you to lash items to the outside of the bag, giving you that critical extra hand when dashing through the terminal. Inside, a Cord Hook retention system keeps stuff secured faster and more elegantly than traditional compression straps. Brilliant details are everywhere: weatherproof UltraZips that all lock together, a laser-cut Hypalon ID tag, padded grab handles, and secret AirTag and stash pockets.
And for photographers, meet your new mobile studio. Designed to perfectly fit the new Peak Design XL Camera Cube, Roller Pro provides endlessly customizable storage, access, and protection for a full professional camera kit, along with vertical space for organization of SD cards, batteries, and other small items. Whether you're in transit, in the field, or in the studio, Roller Pro is the ultimate assistant.
