Quick and strong camera holder. Product itself is excellent, but I don't use it quite enough. Most of the time the camera is either around my neck on a strap, in the bag, or left at home and shooting with an iPhone.

This works great for me on certain backpacks, clipping onto my left, front shoulder strap on my Lowepro Outdoor pack. But on my Lowepro sling, it's difficult to attach it to the crossover strap, and doesn't quite work.

I absolutely love PD products. And this clip is great for its intended purpose. Works perfectly with the mobile creator kit. Very secure. However, there's one major flaw: The Pro edition of the previous version (Capture Pro) featured a tripod mounting hole for use as a monopod or tripod quick-release clamp. This is the only way to use the Mobile Creator Kit's ARCA quick release plate, as the plate doesn't work with non-PD ARCA quick release mounts. And unfortunately PD doesn't offer a 1/4" tripod mount that works for their quick release plates. The design of the new model is nice and sleek, but this crucial feature was removed for some reason. I purchased an old (and used) Capture Pro for this reason. (Works well, but isn't as nice as the version still available.) With this one simple improvement, it would be perfect!

Beautifully crafted. Holds my camera securely while hiking and scrambling. Easy to remove and transfer to my tripod. Still getting used to reattaching camera/base plate to capture device mounted on my backpack shoulder strap?so far not as easy as I anticipated.

I got this as I wanted to make my camera more quickly accessible while I was traveling in South Korean and Taiwan. I love the design of the clip and functionality for accomplishing this. I travel with and often use a lightweight backpack that has fairly thin shoulder straps (Osprey Daylite Plus). The hardware protrudes quite a bit and I was concerned about it rubbing a whole in my thin merino shirt. Thus didn't happen but it was a concern I have.

Bought 2 of these alongside the pro pad to attach to my belt. They hold my Sony A7C and GoPro securely and are very fast & convenient to attach and detach. The materials and the finish feel super high quality and premium.

am chuffed with the Capture clip went for the bright orange colour which actually also serves as a point of luminosity attached to my bagpack and ofcourse enough has been said about it engineering and sturdiness which is all true ...I use a R6 Mark III and RF 24 to 75 mm lens and it hangs well without fuss

I use one of these these Capture Clips on my backpack strap as well as another on a belt. In both cases, I use the ProPad. On the backpack, I have comfortably carried a mirrorless camera with a 70-200 lens on a 3-mile hike. Easy to release the camera and just as easy to clip it back into the clip. I will be starting to use it as well with a lighter and shorter 35-100 lens next month. I am planning on some 8-mile hikes with the shorter and lighter lens. I expect the capture clip will be perfect for that use case. On the belt, I don't like having a long lens. For that, I use a small and very light 28-60 or a 40mm lens. This works out perfectly for me. So, the important point is that the capture clip works well in many scenarios based on your needs and how you want to carry various types of equipment.

Good concept, poor performance for heavier cameras. The finish did not last through a 4 hour shoot before it started to wear off, and started to bind metal on metal. By the end of the shoot, could not get the camera into the clip.

I've had this product since I backed the original Kickstarter campaign back in 2011, and it simply can't be beat. I still use my first generation clip with Sony mirrorless cameras when I shoot professional videography work, as well as when I'm kayaking in Ontario with a GoPro. I've used it as a belt clip for anything from cameras to audio recorders, lenses, and more.

I bought the Capture Clip a few years ago with the Pro Pad and the combo is still holding strong. These items are incredibly reliable, useful, and worth it if you're a photographer on the move. The most useful scenarios to use the Capture Clip is on a hike or long walk, when you need both your hands for balancing through rough terrain or because you're tired, but still need the camera at quick access.

Game changer. I use Olympus MFT bodies, so my cameras are relatively small and light. With the PRO Pad, I can drop a camera on my hip whenever I want to, wherever I'm walking. Or with the longer screws provided, I can put it on most backpack straps. Among other things, it makes it ridiculously easy for me to wear it for things like fat biking which gives me winter shots that I could not get otherwise; I literally don't even notice that it's attached as I'm riding. And being able to quickly drop it directly on to a monopod or tripod increases the versatility. Many years ago, a top professional told me that the best camera lens was what you had on you when the shot presented itself. The corollary to that is the worst is the one you don't have. This solves that problem under a huge number of circumstances.

I really liked the capture clip design, ease of use and ruggedness. I have been planning to purchase one for some time and I did. However, one thing I would like to suggest: many people now a days use a tripod / mini tripod connected to the camera all the time, for self documentary etc. I certainly do so. But since the mount is not an universal piece, I now have to dislodge it everytime I need to connect my tripod. I know peakdesign makes its own tripod that can be connected to the mount, but there it looses its modularity to other products outside the company. A simple way would have been to just keep a hole at the centre of mount running through the screw channel that connects it to the camera. This way, the mount is attachable to the capture clip, but also does not remove the mount hole of the camera in the process, leaving it open for its all previous purposes. Perhaps think about it. I am not complaining about the product as such, but I feel it has a potential to be better this way.

My previous capture clip caught jammed, and I wasn't able to use it for a few years. It didn't even occur to me until just recently to check out their warranty policy. Peak design made it so easy and were so helpful in getting me a new capture clip. This time, I can tell it will not be jamming. It is an excellent product and I am so grateful for the excellent support they put behind it.

I love this clip and use it for my 100-400 and my 600pf (Nikon). It works great and takes off the weight from my neck or from me carrying it. My clip did get stuck in the field and they sent me a new one free of charge! Remember everything is guaranteed for life. (I had forgotten and now have two, one for each backpack!)

I have used capture clips for a few years now and could never go back to not using one. They are so convenient and so much easier and more comfortable to use than a camera strap. I even went out of my way on a trip to Portugal to find a camera store that sold one after forgetting mine at home on a different backpack. My only complaint is the price (especially in a local store in Europe!). A larger version would probably be good too, since it is a struggle to fit these over thicker straps on proper backpacking backpacks.

Tried other options that were cheaper. They worked, but at 50% of the functionality of the CC. I have 3 now...it's that important. Getting rid of the camera strap is life changing and while I utilize the pad for belt carry (as I don't wear a backpack 24/7...) and it works perfectly, instinctively and safely. Incredibly awesome for my Fuji with the shorter focal length lenses, but actually good with an XH2s and a 500 f5.6 on it for walk abouts. So glad I decided to give it a try. I just cringe at those FB adds with the leather octopus contraption...Oh Lord NO! LOL!

The perfect tool for hands free camera carry! The only VERY minor issue I have is the Arca plate requires extreme tightening of the bolt to avoid rotation over time. In general use, I do sometimes have a problem judging the angle to insert the camera, but once I internalise this from a few attempts, it is super quick to insert the camera and hear the reassuring click to know it is secure. And it really is secure. Even if my surroundings don't allow me to properly hear the click, a simple jostle up and down will confirm it. With the camera mounted on my Everyday Backpack Zip 15L strap, I can confidently walk or even climb using both my hands. I have even worn a 2.5kg, 400mm long DSLR kit on the clip. While this inevitably does sway a little, I have no doubt that it will remain attached. This saves my shoulder from carrying the 2.5kg all the time and makes a bird photography trek so much the more enjoyable! It also works well as a travel companion as I can sight see with my camera always in easy reach, yet without tying up a hand holding a strap or "managing" a cross body strap. The clip and plate do scuff a little, but I don't wear it as a fashion item, so it's not a problem for me.

I used to be an enormous fan of peak design. I have used this product for almost 4 years. I have the camera clip as well as their travel tripod. Of late this thing has caused my Canon R5 Mark II to crash to the ground twice now, as some very subpar workmanship on my replacement clip has caused the screw to come undone. Seriously, don't risk it.

First day I used my capture on a 3 mile hike with my Canon R7 with a 150mm lens. Used on my belt with the belt support pad. Worked great! Really pleased. My binoculars were around my neck, so having the camera securely on my hip but easily and quickly accessible was absolutely great. Product is solid quality, rugged and looks cool, I'll be using it for years no doubt.
