Review Summary
Forensics industry for taking forensic type of photos
62mm
The Peca 62mm 9 Filters Kit with 918 Visible Light Filters are mounted in standard threaded metal mounts. Filter rings are engraved with the filter number and the equivalent Wratten number. Each filter has its own case with foam insert for added protection.
The Peca 900 is a UV filter. This filter is often used to take UV (Ultraviolet) photos of bite marks or bruises to the skin using a UV light source in a darkened room. The Peca 900 is also used sometimes to photograph hard to see tattoos on deceased bodies.
The Peca 902, 904, 906, 908, 910, 912, 914 are all IR (Infrared) filters. These filters are used to photograph gunshot residue, blood spatter and altered documents. Each filter is based on the traditional Wratten filters used by forensic photographers for years. The difference between each of the IR filters is the point at which they begin to pass the Infrared light. Individual IR filters may render different results when taking photos of the same subject.
The Peca 918 is a "visible light" filter. When used on a IRUV camera, or a camera that had been converted to take UV and IR photos, the filter will give normal color photos. The Peca 918 does not pass any IR light and delivers a little "cooler" color. The Peca 918 is popular with outdoor lighting and electronic flash.
The filter kit has a rugged polypropylene case that contains a lipstick type Ultra Brush, a Microfiber Cloth, Lens Cleaning Fluid and Lens Cleaning Tissue.
