I was very excited to try out this cross bar after using a cheaper one that didn't hold up weight very well. It felt heavy duty and very durable. I was a bit disappointed to see that when extended, it still had a small amount of dip in the center with backdrop weight on it, but my biggest issue is that it was a bit difficult to take off the stands. The pole fit easily onto the stands, but when I tried to take it off, it seems like the slots were too small and it was completely jammed. It took 2 of us to get the pole off of the legs and the brand new bar was left with scratches. Overall, it's 10x stronger and more sturdy than my last so I'll be keeping it.

I can not get it to twist lock but the normal resistance is adequate for my use. If you need it to lock maybe you can figure it out. Or maybe I miss read the description and it not designed to lock.

Well constructed backdrop pole and strong enough to support any background.Combined with a couple of light stands, the photoflex backdrop pole fills the exact need for setting up a backdrop environment in a client's home, for example. Construction is excellent and even when extended the full width provides more than adequate strength to support your muslin or other fabric backdrops. I've not tried rolled paper yet, but I don't see a reason why that would not work either. I picked up standard clamps from ... (Huge kit of multiple size for under $7 - can't beat it, and you can never have enough clamps. :-) I would highly recommend the Photoflex pole. Great value for the dollar.

Absolutely the best that I could find. Far better then most of the other options in its price range.

I will be using the backdrop pole in June for a portrait shoot 101 class. I have tried the pole out on some backdrops and was satisfied with the overall design of the pole.

build quality similar to other photoflex products. mine arrived missing a pin that holds the end cap to the bar, but since there are two pins it's still fully functional and works as needed in my home setup.

Good quality. Did the trick, as I already had the stands, and just needed the cross bar. I like that it's expandable.

It's possible that I got a defect but this pole doesn't lock the description says.

Most backdrops are 10' wide and so are most cross poles. This allows you to set your pole 10;6" or so allowing you to effectively stretch the backdrop tight(using the Linco 4216 backdrop holders)therefore allowing you to use the full backdrop not just most.

This is a sturdy pole ith good extension. I use it to hold cloth backdrops in my studio. I've tried several types of poles and find that i like this one the best.

I love this support bar !!!! Just wished it would closed down smaller to fit in a carrying bag.

The bar is difficult to expand and collapse. I have a Bogen that expands/contracts very easily. This one is hard to move in either direction.

Very versatile. Hard to fnd item and priced fairly. This crossbar is adjustable - it telescopes, instead of using fixed length sectionals!! Great advantage. When closed, approximately 50" but extends to 12'. Very happy.
