The screw knob broke after first month, then order a replacement and then the second one had pole defect. For the extra money I expected a better product.

My rating is less about the stand (which worked well) than the packaging and/or shipping. When the stand arrived there was damage to both the stand and the carrying bag. It appeared as of the stand had rubbed against itself causing scrapes on the stand and abrasions to the bag. Since I needed to use it two days after it arrived, I was unable to return it.

A bit more expensive, but this is nice and sturdy. I can get paper roles on and off by myself.

Strong and sturdy. The case is also strong. The zipper pulls smoothly. The sleeves inside the case (made of what feels like a 20D nylon taffeta material) might tear after repeated sliding the stands in and out if one is not careful. But the sleeves are not necessary and were an unexpected feature. But the stands themselves are straightforward and functional. A little sticky when sliding the collar to the legs along the center column. But after a few uses you learn how to do it without even thinking about it.

Purchased this and have used it in my studio space for my canvas backdrops. The canvas backdrops are on the heavier side and this holds it quite well. I like the telescoping cross bar, which accommodates narrower and wider backdrops.

The screws click occasionally and make me nervous that they are going to lose their thread and break. I'm keeping my warranty close by just in case.

I use this for my home studio. I recommend this for the person who is just starting out with portraits and needs backdrops or anyone that wants a quick, easy and real sturdy travel kit for the right price.

Use the product to support seamless paper. Strong, and love the telescoping crossbar. Wish it had air cushioned stands, but small price to pay for a nice sturdy backdrop stand.

This backdrop stand is perfect for my in-home studio needs. My studio is small (only 15-30 feet) It was quite simple to set up and is just as easy to take down. Came in a very sturdy canvas bag. (unfortunately, one of my zippers was busted, but that's an isolated incident and the other one works, so no harm done). The stands are sturdy. I own many other Photoflex products and as usual, I am very happy with this one as well. For the price, I would recommend it. I would imagine that it would not fare as well though, in a large commercial studio.

This setup comes with a nice carrying case. I would have like to have some room in the case for a roll of paper as well. If you leave the case unzipped you can place the roll on top and manage to carry everything. Performs well.

Travels well. Comes with a nice bag - don't expect to to have room for a roll of paper or other backgrounds. Also the unit is easily adjustable. A solid choice for indoor use.

This backdrop stand is easy to use. Just extend the feet, extend the crossbar to the desired length, place crossbar onto the stand, extend poles to height ensuring that the crossbar is parallel to the ground. You may need help to extend the poles simultaneously. Otherwise extend the poles and then place crossbar after.

I got this for a portable unit to take on location shoots. It has worked very well in this respect. I frequently hang a 10 foot x 20 foot diamond cloth backdrop off of it and have had no problem. For those that haven't used them, Diamond cloth is not light, especially at that size. If you are going to use it everyday in a studio, you might want to get a heavier duty stand but for occasional, or portable use, this unit works fine.

This stand will hold up for a long time. A bit heavy due to solid construction but it's still easy to set up and move around or adjust.

Excellent product for a person like myself, new to photography and wanting to improve my skills just for the fun of the hobby. Setup was easy to figure out, and the product did not feel cheap or flimsy at all. For the price, it is well built and a very good value. I requested this kit for Christmas, and I'm glad I did.

I love that I have a durable, lightweight stand for my backdrops. I am a photography student using this stand in my dining room as I build clientel. I love that I can put it together, move it around, and adjust it without any help. I would like to see permanent study clamps to help with holding the dropback into position. I'd also like to see some type of weight that will keep the paper in position so that it doesn't roll down during a shoot.

I just started using this kit and have found it very easy to set up, carry and pack. The case is very nice and makes transporting a breeze. I have only used this indoors but the supports seem very solid and should serve in a variety of different settings.

I am typically a location shooter who does environmental portraits but I couldn't pass up a gig that required seamless. I needed something quick and relatively inexpensive; however, I don't like spending money on cheap stuff that will fall apart after a few uses. That said, I'm very pleased with this product though I won't use it often, I believe it will last a long time and be incredibly handy when I do need it.

It would be nice to see, as a general rule with any backdrop support, some sort of measurement scale on the telescoping parts so that you can achieve an even setup without struggle. This product exceeded my expectations with the quality of materials, it is sturdy yet lightweight and does the job well. I have used it with a white seamless without problems.

Sturdier than I thought it would be. Very easy to put up. I'll be using it on the road and in the studio. Nice carry case and easy to haul.

Easy to set up and take down. I only wish there were a mechanism to prevent the roll of seamless paper from unraveling when it's on the stand. [@] clamps work just fine for now.

Simple, easy, and quick setup and take down (very important as I have no permanent studio space). Very adjustable. Rock solid when set up. Handy carrying/storage bag. Seems rather heavy, however. Also, product description refers to twist and lock crossbar. Mine twists all day without locking, but I consider this a minor irritation for my uses. I would definitely recommend this and consider other Photoflex products for my own use.

Good price for this sturdy and portable backdrop support kit. For its size it is not overly heavy, it is well built and should give many years of on-location service.

A very nice support that goes together very easy and is very secure and sturdy. The Crossbar locks into place with ease with wing nuts. Perfect for location shoots because of its weight and small footprint. Very nice carry Bag as well.

I was looking for a light, portable, stable & sturdy Backdrop support that would be easy and fast to setup, breakdown and transport. This support is perfect for all above reasons. It fits very nicely into the included Nylon Bag. The Bag is usually where some manufacturers cut corners but Photoflex includes a very nice and sturdy Case that should last a good long while. Someone said the Crossbar doesn't lock onto the support Poles, it does with good size Wing Nuts. This is a very stable, easy and fast system to setup. All locking mechanisms are built very sturdy and large Wing Nuts make it a breeze to quickly get things setup and ready for any shoot, whether in Studio or on location. The Crossbar is very sturdy and will handle allot of weight so hanging thick Backdrops or multiple Backdrops for a pleated look will not be a problem for this Stand to hold up. The support Stands are very stable with large diameter, sturdy telescoping Poles and nice wide Legs. For the price you get allot of high quality features only seen in much more expensive and much heavier Stands. If you do allot of location work and need Light weight, small Footprint portability as well as easy, fast setup then look no further.

Great Price. First time user of this backdrop support. Have used others in the past most of which were heavy and bulky. This backdrop for its size is extrememly light weight. I will see over time how it will stand up for freelancing and location photography.

This is a very functional stand with heavy duty light stands for support. My only problem with it is that it seems that it should have some way to lock on the crossbar. It's pretty sturdy as is but I would feel better if it locked on.
