Shopper : I'm having a VERY hard time getting my new light dome together. are the rod supposed to bent to mount them to the shoe mt. flash? I'm normally good at putting things together but this has me baffled! Any help will be appreciated.BILL B : I use mine with an Alien Bees mounting ring and didn't have too much of a problem. They are a tight fit since the rods are used to keep the softbox taught. You should not have to bend the rods since that will take the spring out of them.JOE O : I am using mine with an alien bee strobe. The rods do need to be bent to get the rods into the speed ring. It seems to get easier after you have done it a few times.BRUCE B : On a medium dome the easiest way to get it together is to put the rod in the sleeve, open the velcro on the diffusion panel end, put the rods into the speed ring, then bend each rod into soft box and secure with the velcro so it just holds, move on to the next rod and do the same. Then when you get back to the first rod you can tighten up the velcro to it's final position. Good luck, you'll get the hang of it.JULIAN H : Yes! Flexing the rods gently. Use speed ring as a leverage point, in addition to the floor. Attach opposite corners first!!!DENTON T : the rods do take a certain amount of effort, sometimes quite a bit of effortFRANK O : Hello Some of these things can be a little difficult to mount. The rods usually do bend sometimes fairly extremely, to fit the speed ring included with some kits. I just bought a soft box but also have a small octobox and by carefully bending the rods they go together. Be sure the rods are in the right mounting holes and in the soft box correctly. They are usually not defective or packaged incorrectly, come brands hardwer than others good luck
JC B : would I be able to mount a SB-900 ON TOP of the TT5 FLEX SYSTEM and still fit in the soft box?DEAN R : Yes. There's a lot of adjustment. I use the SB-910. Same size.
